This will require me to learn a new system which is in high demand at other firms as well. I want to ask my boss if I can learn this system and takeover a project instead of having the company outsource it to someone who so far has not been very reliable or efficent. The thing is that I also want to ask for more money. This is additional work that I will be taking on top of my regular responsibilites. How do I ask my employer about this particularly the money situation? How much of an increase can I ask for. I did some online research and found that going rate for someon proficient with this experience can earn 25 to 30 % more then I currently am.

I've been working at this company for a little over a year now. The first 6 months were really busy. Now the last 6 months have been dead slow. I keep asking my manager for work and he says there's nothing. I ask him what's going on, where's the work and he makes up excuses then says it's going to get really busy just wait and see. Well, I've been waiting 6 months and I see nothing happening. Should I just sit around getting paid for doing nothing or let my boss know I can't handle the idleness?

I like my job cause it's convenient but it has no room and no chance for advancement. I like my bosses, but I don't get along with a co-worker. She drives me insane and we are the only ones in the office, so I have to deal with her everyday. It's a small company and I feel I can't work like this anymore. What should I do? How should I quit?

I can't make ends meet on my Jobseekers Allowance alone, and saw an ad for a p/t sales assistant in a shop. The job pays £5.35 p/hour, and is for 10 hours per week, with more hours at busy times. I would love to take it, but I think I would be worse off! I have heard that I can get Housing Benefit if I stay within in the 15 hours rule. And I am hoping the shop will give me 15 hours a week, most of the time.

I have 10 years sales experience in the auto industry. I am currently employed as a Finance Manager for a local car dealership in Billings, MT. While I am very good at my job,I am looking for a career that doesn't pay on commision. I would like to get into a field where I can help people. Any job openings out there for someone like me?

I recently put my resume online. I was contacted by a company called UGA. They told me they provide services for small businesses. I can't find much info on them. Seems like a scam....like Primerica. I don't want to waste my time with an interview, so if anyone has info I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

I'm 21. The girl I really like won't talk to me anymore because of my drinking problem.
I got fired from the past 5 jobs. Just today I got fired from my bank. I don't know what to do. I feel shattered, alone, depressed...I can't cope with the pain. It's too much.
My parents expect me to be a big businessman. I don't think I can do that. I"m a loser. What are the chances of me being successful? Nil. I got fired 5 times! Call center, Best Buy, Home depot, rona, and now Td Canada Trust.
I don't know if I can be successful in life. My parents are going to be very depressed when I tell them I'm fired.

Okay, here's my story....I am a full time day worker and have been going to junior College at night and have almost completed my AA. Now I want to go to a university full time for Architecture. I am only 22 and single, so I want to know, what are the odds of quitting my job, and going to College full time during the day...Has anyone ever gone from a good paying day job, back to school and made it. (including having bills) Any stories?? or is it hopeless to think I can make it???

I have taken intensive Spanish lessons for a little over a month, and I will be continuing these lessons for the next 8 months, up until I move to Spain. I study hard, and practice often. On my resume, how should I explain my Spanish skills? I would definitely not say "proficient" in Spanish, because I wouldn't be able to interview in Spanish, so I guess I'm looking for a word that means a little less than proficient.

Hi, I always get offered a job when I'm shopping in Abercrombie & Fitch... which is beyond me because I don't look like the typical A&F sales associate -- I'm Italian and a very petite girl, not tall and blonde, but I'm friendly and have a casual "abercrombie" look (i.e. the fuller eyebrows). Then again, the offer is always from the 18-20 year old men that work there, so they could just be hitting on me for all I know, haha. But regardless, I've always been too young to work there, but pretty soon I'll be eligible, and I think it'd be fun to work there. I know they have a very bad reputation for how they treat their sales associates, but the store in my area is very nice and laid back (the employees try on the clothes all day and are constantly just talking amongst themselves). I also know the pay is low, but I'm not looking to work for financial reasons, more just for the fun of experiencing a first job. Anyway, what should I wear? Abercrombie clothes or professional clothes?

I manage a group of nine employees. Two have been with the company for over seven years, and I have been with the company for only 5 months. The two "veterans" do their work very well, but they have terrible attitudes and treat the newer employees horribly and they bad mouth me. I have confronted them about this, but the behavior continues. What to do?

In my case I get a sense of pride when someone says, "nope I don't like that one." and then my adrenaline kicks in, and I suggestively persuade them into bringing out what they want.

Everything i'm assigned to, he volunteers to do. If I say the sky is blue, he says the sky is yellow. Then he'll look at me with a sly smile...

He contradicts everything I say and do, and even has the nerve to ask me "are you upset"?

Now, when I have the biggest project of my career, he volunteers to help.
