Let's say... you take a tram...

Advantage: You save money from gas.
Disadvantage: The guy in front of you farted.

Advantages:
* Lower cost on some commutes, given gas prices and car maintenance costs.
* Reduce need for a car
* Less pollution
* Sometimes faster (if there are dedicated bus lanes, HOV lanes, or grade-separated trains)
* Avoid and reduce traffic, road rage
* Reduce need for road construction
* Free up time for some activities (reading a book, etc.)

Disadvantages:
* Lack of control over departure/arrival time
* Possibly slower (non-express buses or trains which make many stops; non-direct routes or need to transfer)
* Crowding, less comfortable, insufficient seating, noise level
* May not be close to destination
* Delays

advantages: cost effective, exercise and fresh air, down time for reading, relaxing, etc.
disadvantages: waiting for scheduled time arrival, stops/destinations not very convenient to home, assault to senses, ie; body odor, crying babies, sicknesses, etc.

Pros= money saving (gaz, insurance, parking,..) No need for maintenance, no responsibility.

Cons= you depends on schedules and locations, crowded environment, ..
