Hi, I always get offered a job when I'm shopping in Abercrombie & Fitch... which is beyond me because I don't look like the typical A&F sales associate -- I'm Italian and a very petite girl, not tall and blonde, but I'm friendly and have a casual "abercrombie" look (i.e. the fuller eyebrows). Then again, the offer is always from the 18-20 year old men that work there, so they could just be hitting on me for all I know, haha. But regardless, I've always been too young to work there, but pretty soon I'll be eligible, and I think it'd be fun to work there. I know they have a very bad reputation for how they treat their sales associates, but the store in my area is very nice and laid back (the employees try on the clothes all day and are constantly just talking amongst themselves). I also know the pay is low, but I'm not looking to work for financial reasons, more just for the fun of experiencing a first job. Anyway, what should I wear? Abercrombie clothes or professional clothes?

Also, do you know what the application process is like? Thanks a bunch!

The key to the group interview is to be yourself and be relaxed, after all stores like Abercrombie and Hollister look for laid back people. the manager told me to dress casual so I'd do the same if I were you unless he/she told you otherwise.

As For The clothes....I Would Buy A Simple, Cute Top from abercrombie......Not the 2 for 30 dollars ones....this is your chance so spend a bit more then you usuallly would!
Jeans should just be a nice pair of jeans that are tight and maybe distressed.....it doesn't have to be from abercrombie...

I think this becuase have you ever looked at the people that work at A&F?
They hang around...tell people that top looks cute...blah blah blah!
so at the interview if you look laid back and calm then you have a large chance at getting the job.

Here's a few questions/answers to the important info the interviewer many need:

1.) Why did you apply to this store as opposed to any other store in the mall?
I Have applied to this store because they stay with the trends and i can trust the surronding area....like i can trust the staff and i really believe that working here will help me with my social skills so i can interact better because Abercrombie is a hip store that many people go to so i think it would be fun to work at my favourite store! =)

2.) Why is diversity important in the workplace?
Diversty is a huge importance level because they are so many differnet types of people in this world that can go underrated because of their religion/colour skin/ beliefs/ clothes i believe that working in a diverse community will let others and even me come toghether and help create a little less racism and a little more peace/love.

3.) What makes you sucessful?
I Am uccesful because i go for something that i want....like if i really really want it i will try my hardest to do whatever i can to get it......usually i do this and im very succesful because i do it in polite manner, proper attidute and a huge heart that has the love of everything in side it! =)

4.) Why should we hire you?
You should hire me because i am loyal to all my surronding people so that would include staff/customers/visitors/ETC, i will higly try my hardest to the best of me to help the customers or staff when struggling/need help.
You should hire me becuase i obtain good social skills with teens that may shop here and i think that me working here may help bring in customers like my friends.

A Few Extra tips are
- Show as little skin as possible(No Mini skirts, clevage, revaling tops)
- Be very very outgoing....they need someone high in energy so dont be all shy and nervous
-wear either a nice pair of sneakers or nice sexy high heels, no sandals or uggs...this shows you lack responsiblity and elegance.
- NEVER EVER EVER Say ummmm Or i dont know to a question...this shows you can doubts on this job
-think the questions over and think about your responsees!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I think Abercrombie clothes would be appropriate for a job interview. Obviously the other employees that tell you that you should work there think they look good on you and also it shows you know something about their products, and like their products therefore making you a good candidate to sell their product.

Personally, I think you should still wear your professional clothes, wearing an AF clothes in an interview would be so over-kill and would make you look like you are so desperate for the job.
