If you put in your two weeks notice because you just cannot take the heat of the job and your bosses dad calls you to have a meeting and then tries to bribe you to stay would you? I am an office manager at a car dealership and I am fed up with the stuff that goes on around here. If someone doesn't do their job I am expected to pick up the slack.(I don't mean just in the accounting office) My boss yells and curses at me on a weekly basis. My bosses dad is a multimillionaire with his own company. They seem to think that money will solve anything. Am I in the wrong for not taking back my two weeks and accepting their offer of a huge raise? Please help!!!

I recently had my 1st baby dec 4th. I was to return to work Jan18th and i did just that. But when i went in they told me that the boss was on vacation and that she needed a Dr's note releasing me back to work, and to meet to discuss hours! I got the note the next day and just had my meeting with the boss yesterday!! She told me that i wasn't needed there anymore and that she didn't think i was happy with the job?!?! Later on last night a friend of mine that works there told me that the girl the hired to replace me when i was gone was told that her hours were secure?! So this to me means that my boss knew back in Nov that they were't giving me my job back and didn't say anything till now!!!! Isn't there some kinda law against this?!

I'm currently working at a very stable company. However, I'm growing tired of the "easy" work. Recently, I've interviewed with another company. They offered me the job, but I haven't accepted it yet. Now, my current employer knows I was looking for another job outside of the company. They want to keep me, but they said they want me to make "a choice that benefits me." So now I'm wondering, if I stay with my current employer and turn down the offer from the other compnay, will my current employer see me as a traitor?

Hey all yahoo friends:

My female manager didn't like me at all and I feel she wanted to kick me out of work recently. She always trys to find a chance to pick my mistakes, even it wasn't a mistake.
She said this to me several time "The mistake you have been made was silly and this is only common sense, use your common sense".
Yesterday, she tried to find another mistake that is not a mistake agin and she said I didn't have common sense again and she had been repeated 3-4 times continously.
I couldn't accepted my manage kept insulting me, therefore, I quit my job.
Can I take legal action in this case?
Pls help me to answer this question.

Thanks to all yahoo freinds

Is it illegal for an employer to require employees to sign a form consenting to the following:

1. Random searches of personal property, including vehicles parked in a company lot
2. Notification when an employee is taking medication, prescription or OVER-THE-COUNTER. The employer wants to contact the employee's physician to ensure the employee can function in the workplace.
3. Random drug tests if the employer smells drugs or alcohol, a co-worker complains, the employee has ATTENDANCE or behavioral issues, or the employee is involved in an accident

An accident - fine. A supervisor's certain they smell something - a little scary, but fine. A co-worker complains - HECK NO! Attendance - um, no. Behavioral issues - okay, fine.

But searches of personal property anytime they see fit?? Reporting every time one takes over-the-counter meds so that the employer can call the doctor??

Am I crazy? Or is this outrageous and/or possibly illegal?

Any advice is sincerely appreciated!

I am currently working at a small bus. auto dealer. I am in the public eye ALOT since I handle all marketing & events for them. With winter, I was put on temp. layoff so I started looking for another job. We all like job security right? I was offered a position with a union office. I didn't even know there was such a thing. The pay is pretty much the same at both places. It's the benefits that are making it tough. The union one would have AWESOME benes and I have a family to think about. Insurance where I am is pretty pricey... The job I currently have gives me a little bit of local familiarity - people know me because of my job. Another thing with this union one I would only work M-F 8-5, with my current job hours vary and some times are excruciatingly long. The job descriptions are a little different. Here I handle all aspects of marketing, there I'll be an assistant to a coordinator of training programs...

Help!!
