My job is not related to my major/degree. However, my employer requires a Bachelors degree for my position. Although, no one has ever asked for any type of proof that I actually have one. I of course do have one, that would be a scary gamble! I do feel that my degree although not related, definitely gives me insight and the necessary knowledge to be a successful more enlightened person. I think that it also provides a level of confidence that comes along with a sense of achievement. I am not sure why you are asking this, but if it is because you are considering furthering your education, I think it is a MUST! Good Luck.

Good Question.

Many do not stay with their Field of Major. But the 4 or 6 Year Degree is still valuable for any job. It always gives you a heads up on others looking for a job.

I majored in Criminal Justice. I did not stay with it since I started having kids. But it was never a waste. I accomplished something that was important to me.

I went into business right out of college and it was the best thing I could have done. I have been in many businesses now for over 30 years. I have made money and a great life. I am semi-retired now at 50 and can use my degree to teach at our local college.
College is always the best avenue to freedom and money.

I'm not done with college yet but I think that in todays age we have so many choices that its hard to narrow it down. Or some people also switch careers alot more these days. So I believe that many people aren't going to be doing exactly what they went to school for.

certain I did. yet you're somewhat wrong. Mechanical Engineering is a vast container. classes they take contain C++, databases with MS get entry to, Thermo, Fluids, Mechanical layout, Statics. they could artwork as structural engineers, logistics analsyts, HVAC designers, CAD drafters, and so on. My chum studied Mechanical Engineering and he's operating as an account manager dealing with a database and he's getting extra into C++ depending softwares at his agency.
