Anyone ever filled in a job application that asks for their worst fault? Whats a good one? I mean, saying that you steal, or have a terrible temper may be true, but not exactly what they want to hear! There's always the cheesy "I'm a perfectionist", but that would just get thrown in the bin!

Ok, would you go back to work somewhere, where you started on a temp to perm basis, then after a month and half brought someone else in - who was a friend of a friend - only to find out he was crap and now the company is asking you to come back with a 2k a year increase?

I'm an artistic, spirited, humourous, creative, deep-thinking, writing-loving, art-loving high schooler. I have a nightmare: spending the mjority my working life sitting in a cubicle working with numbers and the like. Oh, numbers. How I detest numbers and the math they always drag along with them.

My dream would be to work happily in a career/job that is highly creative (40% or more, niave maybe but I'm just hoping)...and also pays well (more than ~40k) in not too much time (without relying on too much luck). I do NOT want to work with anything related to super-traditional artwork, like painting. I've been thinking of graphic design, but have been scared by the fact that I may still get stuck in a cubicle, staring at the computer screen, moving the mouse around all day with not much hope for anything more since I'm not much for freelance.

So I ask, what would you say is the overall highest paying, most DIRECTLY creative career? This is includes writing of course. And any other advice

When hiring someone, say you interviewed someone who seemed really good, was well qualified -- but tested positive for marijuana. Would you hire them anyway, or stick firmly to your policy?

This question is specifically about marijuana, not other drugs

I work for a start up cocoa processing plant (only opened 2 months ago). So far I have little to no assign tasks. I've tried asking my bosses for more work and they say okay, but never give me any. I try to just do things around the office, but there is not much to do becuase this is a start up company. I end up surfing the web all day and even that is getting annoying. HELP.

I feel it's a violation of your privacy. I mean, I can understand why cops, drivers and others in "safety sensitive" positions are subject to drug testing, but is it really necessary to drug test the grocery store cashiers and secretaries? If so, why?

I got hired by a company and relocated out of state to work at the new position. The company paid some relocation costs and increased my salary to get me to sign on, which I gladly did.

My daughter is terminally ill. We have lots of dr.'s appointment and she gets sick often. I usually keep her appt.'s very organized and don't take any other vacation time off, except when I need to be with her. I had been with my previous company for 6 years, so we had it all pretty much worked out.

So... of course as soon as I got here, like within a month, she landed in the hospital for 6 days.

If you were my boss, would you be disappointed that you recruited me from another state to come work for you and then I show up with personal problems?

I worry about this. I wonder sometimes if I ethically should explain this information before someone hires me. Would you want some kind of disclosure in this situation?

i work in a shop with a few other people and the owner is bullying me. I am always getting shouted at for little things, like when i am asked to sweep up if a bit of paper is found on the floor i am shouted at and humiliated in front of everyone.
the other day he shouted at me for putting a price label in the wrong place on a box and kept on and on. he told me if i do that again i will be 'out' and i started to cry. i have only worked in the shop for a few weeks and feel i dont have a choice because i had been unemployed for a long time before i got the job.

is there anything that i can do to stop this? I just want my job to work but there is no one higher up that i can go to for help cause he is in charge.

I am suppoused to be on salary. I am out of vacation time. So I am now getting paid for every minute I am/am not here. For example - while no one else has to use their PTO if you are less than 30 minutes late (the grace period), they get paid for a full day. But If I am 5 minutes late, I don't get paid for it! Is this legal????
