2 years ago the newspaper ads and temporary agencies often had Filing clerk, general Scanning clerk, or things like that. But recently there isn't any of that. I'm guessing cause those responsibilities are now included in higher level positions so that your administrative assistant will do his stuff and also the filing part.

I'm just a simple person with filing skills , general office skills and computer skills but i'm no professional at anything, also i have problems with speaking. So if those type of basic jobs are now disappearing in society, what can inexperienced people like me do? I would settle for minimum wage jobs if i could live with that but that's not possible

I had a marijuana possession charge 2 years ago. I want to be a pharmacist. Will I still be able to go to college and get a job being a pharmacist or will people just turn me down because of it?

I have stuttering and i speak slowly and sometimes i blank out and can't think fast. I'm 27 , just have trouble with speech but otherwise i'm fine and i'm creative and a hardworker. But haven'tbeen able to find work cause nobody wants people like me.

The usual job ads say "We need an outgoing person with exceptional interpersonal and speaking skills"..and that's just for an office assistant. I have all the skills they need except that i'm slow and stutter and i blank out often..

so what can i do, should i just go for a minimum wage job? but is that the only thing to do?

I have no experience doing customer service and i 'm not really good with words. i have some skill in computers, graphics, and problem solving though, i'm not useless i would think(even if i'm nothing near professional). All the jobs in Newspaper ads or computer job site ads, need people with customer service or years of experience EVEN when they seem other wise easy to do.
I'm 27

I was really looking forward to a position in the company. I was even told they are considering me. I went on vacation then, and when I got back, they had already given the position to someone else. I am distressed. I no longer feel for this company. I feel betrayed. Shd I give them the real reason for resigning? I am at work, and I don't even feel like being here anymore. Suggestions please? I ended up crying at my desk.

I just started working for a large financial firm 3 months ago and hit my quarterly bonus which was about 1/4 of my total salary.

My company is going to withhold this money from me because I was still in the probationary employment period (90 days) when I achieved this bonus.

Should that matter or is it even legal?

The point is that I hit all my sales numbers and deserve this bonus. What should I do? I am very angry about all of this.

I have a friend who has been unemployed for a few months. He was an attorney who gave up his pratice to tend to some family issues and never went back into practice. He has a back ground in real estate, criminal and labor law and has held various project management positions with a construction and contracting firm over the past six years. He doesn't know where to start looking for a job aside from sites like Monster.com, CareerBuilder.com, etc. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. He is very hungry, but somewhat discouraged as of late and I'd like to help him out.

I asked my boss if i could go and she said the i could go after all the customers have left. Than i called again after the customers have left and she would not call me and paged that we could all leave in 5 min which turned in to me leaving at 6:20 which made me late for my meeting. Are we not supposed to be asked to stay later not commanded to?

I absolutely LOVE my job. But I have only been here for three months, and I found out that the severe back and shoulder pain that I have had for the last four years is linked to my large chest. Now I am approved for surgery that will have me on rest for two weeks following. I am the receptionist, and this means that covering the front desk when I'm gone is extremely hard to do. But my back pain has had me laid up in bed for days sometimes is pain so bad I'm brought to tears and pain killers won't help. I know I need this surgery. But I don't know how to break the news to my boss!! Any advice???

Alright, I'm a social undergrad with a nice GPA and 4 years of managerial training already under me. I am considering becoming a business major. I was wanting to have a social job where I could make some nice money and work hard.

I've considered becoming a teacher (too low of pay), college instructor (no job security)and a plethora of other careers. I've concluded that I'd like to have something social, not cutthroat, and I could make a decent living and still have a life.

Any ideas?

It takes your focus out of your work & if the relationship fails, the emotional it can make the workplace a living hell for you. If anyone is found having a 'fling' or a 'relationship' with another person atleast in the same department, that person should be fired immediately.

YES or NO?
