I absolutely LOVE my job. But I have only been here for three months, and I found out that the severe back and shoulder pain that I have had for the last four years is linked to my large chest. Now I am approved for surgery that will have me on rest for two weeks following. I am the receptionist, and this means that covering the front desk when I'm gone is extremely hard to do. But my back pain has had me laid up in bed for days sometimes is pain so bad I'm brought to tears and pain killers won't help. I know I need this surgery. But I don't know how to break the news to my boss!! Any advice???

The most important thing is that you are happy and healthy, so go head and go throught with the surgery. And if your boss don't understand then he dosen't care about his employee's like he should. and remeber you can't get fired because of medical reasons.

You are covered by Workers Compensation from the time you were hired. You can tell your boss when you pick up the claim forms. This is honest advice. Sorry. Also find a good workers Comp. Attorney they will get you more for your claim.

TELL YOUR BOSS JUST WHAT YOU JUST WROTE: If he is anything like me. He will run, not walk to help you out. Good employees are hard to get, and people that love their jobs put up with more HORSESH*T than those that are there for a pay check. I would rather get you in good health now than wait till something happens and I will be forced to do without you.
