.....my english is very bad...

2007-01-31 04:26:02 · 10 answers · asked by boo 5

I am 19 years old and work as a Sales Administrative Assistant at a large yet privately owned company. While working full-time I am still finishing school. When I got the job, they said they were starting me off at a salary lower than average to make sure I could do the job. Well, I've been here for almost a year now, and excel at everything I do. With all the tasks I do for the other employees at the company, I know that I would be hard to replace. (I'm not trying to sound cocky, I just know that I work hard and have put a lot of effort into exceeding what they thought I could do.) Anyways, I was just wondering what the average pay for this position is, seeing as I will be going in for my monthly review. For the amount of time and effort I put in here, I would like to know I am being paid fairly. Thanks!

How can you get experience in your field if everyone requires experience to get a job? If you have a degree, they tell you that you are overqualified for the positions that don't require experience? Any advice would be appreciated.

I have been working at the same place for almost 8 years and I have been semi-trying to get out and find something else. However, its very hard to go on several interviews when you are already working. Many places do not give after hours interviews. How do you get around this?

What dirty little secrets does your company or line of work have that the public could benefit from knowing?

here's mines...I worked for a big credit card company whose name i won't mention, but they were always asking about what was in somebody's wallet...Anyway, when you call and tell them about other card companies offering you better deals, they almost always can adjust whatever it is you are looking for. For example, if you call and say that Chase or Amex offered you a 7.9%, and your current apr with our mystery card company is a 9.9%, they may offer you a 6.9 to pacify you. We had a point system, and even if i could offer you a 2.9% in that situation, my bonus and paycheck depended on how many points i saved by NOT giving you as low an APR as i actually could (granted your credit was good, no late payments, etc.) Also, if you make ONE payment by ONE DAY LATE, they can automatically update that apr to 27.9 with no warning...shifty business people!!

anybody else??

While price changing last night they had priced some barbeque sauce for only a penny. I was excited about this deal so I bought 9 of them. When I bought my orange juice the lady told me that I might get in trouble. Is it possible to get in trouble for something like a pricing error that was the companies fault?

I had signed a workplace agreement (that all employees sign) saying I have to give a weeks notice when terminating employment. Because of personal reasons I quit with no intention of working the week out, he then said i must report to work or he will seek legal action for monetary compensation from myself and my new employer for loss of income Can he do this?

I can see that people take human being like their self to make money. Some go out to rob in the bank or their community.
Whereby if people a ready to work they will have money some people in the market to help people carry their load and they give them money at the end of the day they have money to eat.
