I play soccer and run track and am considering running cross country next school year. However, i'm concerned that running cross country will cause me to lose my speed when I do track again. Is this true and if it is what can I do about it?Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Okay i'm in athletics, usually we run a mile ( pretty easy) but i have trouble? When i'm running i always get out of breath and it hurts to inhale. My face gets red easy and when i am done running it is REALLY red. Idk what it is though no other girl has these problems but me. I get tired and i'm gasping for air. I am not fat really i weigh 130 but i don't know what the problem is. Anyone had this type of problem? I don't think its the weather, something worse.

I can run pretty fast on a short distance, but I get tired easily on Pacers and long distance. Everyone tells me I have really good potential for running. Please help me to keep running and not tire as easily.

I'm told to "line up where my best 10k time is", are there pace runners for each 10 minute increment that you can run with? What kind of foot traffic will I be dealing with?

I'm a runner, only 14. I started running 2 years ago, and have been in track (long distance) for 2 years. Since our coaches don't make us run that far, I can only run up to 2.5 miles without stopping.
With stopping, I can run 3.
It's pretty pathetic, but, I've gotten high places at track meets before.
I want to be in cross country in high school. How can I run longer distances?

I jogged around for years in a pair of Converse boots and was always covered in massive blisters. I've recently switched to a pair of Nike running trainers and although this has stopped any occurrences of shin splints I still get blisters. Any suggestions?

Runners: have you ever actually gotten a runner's high while running? I run an average of 4 miles a day/6 days a week (at an even pace) but still have never acheived this feat. Do I need to quicken my pace? Right now it takes me about 40-45 minutes for 4 miles. Am I going too slow? Help!
