but if i eat .... then when i run half an hrs later will i feel unwell in my stomach ..?

It's usually better to have a small carb-rich snack an hour or two before a run, but if it's just 1 slice of bread, you should be fine. Bread is metabolized especially quickly. I usually have half a Power Bar or a banana before my long runs, and I usually eat it closer to half an hour before the run, and I've never had a problem. I've never felt unwell after a long run, either, after having one of these snacks half an hour before my run-it just helps to not be hungry immediately after. At least, in my case. It might be different if you have an extremely sensitive stomach, but at 10-12K, you shouldn't have this sort of problem, especially with just a slice of bread.

i eat fruit before i run b/c i have a sensitive stomach and thats the only thing that i have found that didn't make me sick.

carbohydrates are good....slow release of energy...
maybe better an hour before...
