Okay i'm in athletics, usually we run a mile ( pretty easy) but i have trouble? When i'm running i always get out of breath and it hurts to inhale. My face gets red easy and when i am done running it is REALLY red. Idk what it is though no other girl has these problems but me. I get tired and i'm gasping for air. I am not fat really i weigh 130 but i don't know what the problem is. Anyone had this type of problem? I don't think its the weather, something worse.

You probably aren't used to it - when people aren't totally in shape at first, they all have this problem. Have you always worked out, or did you just start now? Recently I started track and felt the same way at the beginning, and now I'm fine. Practice, practice, practice...that's all that will help. To help with your lungs, try these exercises:

Week 1:
Sprint six 100 m (1/4 of a track) taking breaks in between

Week 2:
Sprint six 200 m (1/2 of a track) taking breaks in between

Week 3:
Sprint six 400 m (1 time around the track) taking breaks in between

Week 4:
Sprint four 800 m (twice around the track) taking breaks in between

This will really help your lungs and so you can breathe better when running. And once your lungs are in shape, you will become a better runner. You will not be gasping for air, and your face shouldn't be red anymore. Good luck!

You are running too fast. Stop trying to stay with the faster kids and run your own pace. That will help with the breathing.

YES, it could be weather, or allergies that affect your body.

Without knowing how tall you are, it's hard to say, but my guess is you are borderline overweight, or at least what you weigh affects your running because whatever you weigh, your legs have to carry it. In any case, and because of the several factors that could be involved, PLEASE see your doctor and let him/her evaluate each of your symptoms.

And with a clean bill of health, I recommend this: Change your lifestyle and do this forever. Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits & vegetables.

No alcohol
no bread
no burgers
No candy
No chips
no corn
no fried foods
No pasta
No pizza
No potatoes
No sodas
No sugar

Good Luck
