I might have anemia or simply my hemoglobin levels are low, but either way the doctor told me to rest for a month until she finds what is wrong with me. I started to run in my college's track team this August and if I stop practicing I will be loosing a lot. I could diminish my dream, knowing that it's not that easy to come back after rest especially since I am new at the sport. If I do stop running it will be to start working which is good in some aspects, but at the same time sucks because at 18 I still want to be a kid. The other option is to stay on the team knowing that it is not going to be easy after a month of rest and that I probably won't get far considering that I am going up against a hole lot of women that have been in this sport for years. I just don't know what to do.

Ok, the school tryouts are next week. (On my birthday! yay! K, sorry) and here is what I have. I can do the 100m in 11.2, I have good endurance. I am about six three, but not very strong (I don't have super strong jumping legs). I have no, and I mean no technique whatsoever. I run and jump. I can get 18 1/2 feet. I feel if I can do that with no technique I can probably pull it up with some tips. Got anything to offer for me? Thanks.

I'm a high school girl, sophomore, and my first indoor track meet is this Saturday. One thing I'm competing is high jump, and I can jump pretty well but sometimes I sike myself out and end up freaking out and telling myself I'm going to run into the bar, and then I do. What can I do to get less nervous and focus better, and clear the bar easy? Sometimes I just sail over it without thinking but sometimes I overthink it too much.

Stop wrist-watch that has a setting that allows you to time yourself, but also set a "beep" to beep at a certain time. For example: I want to run 400m in 60 second intervals. So that I know I am on pace, I set a beep to go off every 30 seconds. That way if I get to the 200m before the beep i know i am doing well, if it beeps before that i have to go faster. Depending on the run, I may set it for 20s, 30s, 42.5s, etc.
Some watches automatically beep every minute, but I want to be able to set the beep.
