I need to condition not only for softball, but for my general health, and running is the best way. I hate running with a passion. Does anyone have any advice as how to get me motivated to run, or how to get me to enjoy running?

Just an average. I have two basic workouts that I have been doing:
If I wake up super early and have alot of time then I do a 5 mile but really slow
If I don't have much time then I do a 2.5 mile run.
Just curious as to what everyone else is doing, I always feel let down when I only do 2.5 so I really push mysef.

Just how fast can a human run. will it ever come to pass that a human can run the Mile in 2 minutes? what is the actual limit of human speed. does that mean that we are close to the end of the human race?

Alright, I've probably done all I can to do improve my times by running. I check out magazines and read running articiles about what the best work-out is. However, I ways that will improve my speed. For example, any foods I should eat, weight work outs, etc. It's just that there's only so much running you can do in one day, and you need to resort to other things to improve your times to as fast as they can be.

Ok, I'm into track right now, but can't really run long distances so I just stick with 40 yard dashes (I run at or around 4.7; my best time is a 4.69). This is without any coaching, without proper shoes (I wear these beat up...I don't know what they are, but they can't even be considered tennis shoes), and without any true weight training (however I have just recently gotten into that). If I get these three things, is it possible to improve my speed and endurance to, say a 4.4-4.5 40 yard dash and maybe a sub 11 100 meter time? Keep in mind that I am seventeen and still am growing in some areas.

Have been running for a couple of years and had no problems. When I began slowly bumping up the miles to prepare for 1/2 marathon (on a treadmill) my left heel started giving me problems. Think it may be plantar fasciatis (sp?). I stopped running for a couple of weeks & when I began running again, pain came back. This time I haven't run in several weeks & my foot only aches after long periods of inactivity or, strangely if I wear heavy boots. Should I not run until I am completely pain-free or should I just run through a little pain (it doesn't hurt when I run) or should I break down and go to a doctor? Thanks!

I really enjoy running but my feet are the problem. Every time i go running i get blisters on inside of my arch. I have bought the recommended runners, i have used all sorts of blister plasters/socks/supports but always end up in pain a couple of miles down the road. Any suggestions?
