I want to run a faster 5K so what should my training be like? I find that most programs online begin with walking -- which is too easy and the then the intermediate programs have you starting out running 3 or 4 miles a day --- which is too much for me. Anyone know?

I'm about 6'1" 225 lbs and I'm looking for a shoe made for people with flat feet. I had some Brooks running shoes a while back that were good. I'm looking for something to put 30-50 miles per week on.

Thanks!

I currently train in kickboxing and usually I walk for 60mins-90mins on my nights that I am not at training, and just recently my instructor told me that If I jog every night for just 30mins I'll be getting better results and fitness than opposed to walking for hours.. at boxing we skip and run but only in short intervals (2mins) then do core exercises in between.. My trainer was said that running is the best sure fire way to lose fat and keep lean muscle fast as it is an anerobic exercise??(I think, I don't have the best memory) any way I tried running the other night and can only seem to do it for 500 meters then I'm buggered.. I started of sprinting and then tried to jog instead to see if that helped but it seems really hard to do. I thought I was relatively fit till I tried to run.. My goal is to be able to run 30 mins 4 -5 nights a week, any tips on how to get started or used to runnning would be great.
how I now admire long distance runners now that I relise just how hard it is!

My coach put me as anchor for the distance medley team in a meet, so I'm running the mile. How fast do you think a decent time for a freshman would be?

I have recently taken up running and have been looking at web sites trying to find out what sort of running shoes i need. They say you can tell by looking at old running shoes but i find it totally confusing. Can any one out there simplify this for me so I can confidently go out and buy suitable shoes. I dont have much time to go to a specialist and would like to buy over the internet. Help please?

When I run, I tend to land on the outsides of my feet and roll them inward as I push off my toes. What's the best running shoe to correct for this?

My thighs are already sore from exercises like duck walks and frog jumps. And they are really sore. I don't run a lot, but would like to today. Is it ok to go ahead and run? Or will it make it worse?

ok I am about to try out for our high schools track team. and trying to be a distance track runner. What is it? Because I signed up for it because it sounds like something I could do.How far do they run? Do you have to run really fast or at a moderate speed? And what kinda training do I need to do to get ready for it?
thanks
