I am not a huge nike shoe fan for running but love the idea of the nike+ sensor to track my progress.

I've used it in several pairs of shoes that aren't the Nike+ shoes. The only catch is that I had to cut a hole in sole of my shoe for the sensor to fit in. It kind of takes the cushion out of my heel a little, so I don't like that. I tried some suggestions that I found on the web that included cutting a hole in the tongue and sticking the sensor in there, but the sensor really needs to be horizontal to work since it has a gyrascope in it that measures your back and forth motion as well as up and down motion. I love the Nike+ipod system though, so I'm hoping that other brands will catch on and eventually I can buy shoes with the pocket for the sensor already built in.
