This is only for the inter. track team.

The coaches said nothing about spikes. Just a good running shoe.

Brands? My friend bought Pumas. Are those good?

My friend and I disagreed about this. I thought a 4*800 relay is where everyone on the relay team(each person of the 4) runs a 200. and for the 4 by 1600 relay each person runs a 400, but my friend says each person would run a 1600 which sounds totally wrong.

And one more unrelated question, how do you pronounce filet mignon?

I'm 26, healthy. now I can only run 2 miles non stop on a running machine, much less if I run outside.

I'm thinking about training myself for marathon, at least half.

my question is : Can anyone (healthy) be trained to run Marathon? esp. for a totally beginner like me?

I cannot get anyone on my team to run with me. I live close to a college and run close to their campus. When you see people it's motivation to run harder and not quit. Is it weird or wrong to stop someone running guy or girl and ask if I can run with them. I figure a partner would help increase my stamina and heart. Is it wrong or weird from a girl & guy's prospective? If so how do I find a partner to run with??? Thank you

I have this friend, and she takes track (aka. track and field). Everyday she complains about how she hates it, how hard it is, how she's missing out on everything after school because of it, etc. I told her she should just quit. Walk away. She says she doesn't want to be a quitter. Also, she says her parents tell her she's comitted to it, so she has to finnish the season. Now, she's telling me she might want to take track in the spring too! She says her coach tells her that she's really good, so she doesn't want to quit, even though she's hating it. Do you think she should quit, stop after the season, or continue doing it? why?

I'm a freshman in highschool, and I currently play soccer, but I've always thought that Cross Country would be fun too. A lot of people say they like it, but you have to run a lot! I have pretty good endurance, but they run at least 3 miles a day. Has anyone done it before, what was your experience like?

Im 15 years old and a distance runner for my high schools cross country and track team. I typically make it my goal to run over 300 miles ever summer, but this past summer i got tendonitus in my achilles and couldnt run, thus missing the whole CC season. I did go to physical therapy and it recovered but i still havent run on it and track starts in a few weeks. I used to run the 3200 meter in about 12 minutes as a freshman but since i havent run since june im totally out of shape. has anyone experienced this or can tell me how long it will take me to get back into my previous shape? How else will my lack of activity impact me as a serious runner? Im worried i might never be back to varsity status at this rate.

Who agrees that the middle distance races, especially the 800 meter run are the most brutal of all athletic events in any given sport? 2 minutes or less of pure pain.............my opinion.
