Hey! I run track for my school and its really hard too. But what I do to work on getting in better shape is working on my lung capacity.... Yeah its kinda weird sounding, but it really helps, especially if you have asthma. Just like work on holding your breath for long periods of time, and when you're done running don't lay down or sit immediately. Just put your hands on your head and walk around for a few minutes. I hope this helped!

I joined track last year, and it was pretty hard the first week! As long as you keep on practicing, you'll do great! Remember to pace yourself, don't run too fast or too slow! keep a steady pace. Also, stretching before you run is very important. Drink water too, but not too much! Have fun running and keep on practicing! =]

don't worry, just do your best... My best friend had asthma and did track and I know how hard it is... He was weezing after every lap but still stuck to it...

My advice:
Just take it easy
Stay dedicated
Don't overdo it
Look to the bright side (if you feel HORRIBLE after a race, than congratulate yourself that you've did you best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

remember, asthma can be cured over time... work on breathing exercises!! maybe yoga?
