I am 36 weeks pregnant with #2. One pregnancy after another, so not only do I have weight from this one I have some from the first. I decided after I have the baby and get okay from my doctor that I am fine and dandy, that I am going to start running again. Most of my weight is in my hips, butt, and thighs. I haven't ran in about three or four years, for lack of motavation so I was thinking maybe I should do a marathon, so I have a goal set and can't just not run. So how long does it usually take to train? What is the smallest one? How do I find them in my area? Do they cost anything? And how do I start training, just a small amount then increase daily/weekly? How much time should I give myself, like how far away of a marathon should I choose?

I want to try to improve my fitness by going running...but I'm pretty bad at it and I get out of breath easily. I know that ultimately practice is the only thing that will improve my stamina, but I want some ideas for how to start off so it's enjoyable...initially, how far/how long should I aim to run for?

Thanks for any help :)

Should I be wrapping up more???
I've been out quite a few times this winter & have felt fine whilst being out. It may be cold at the start, but I soon warm up.
The reason I ask is because every time I see another runner out, they seem to be wearing a hat, sweater/Jumper.

I am taking a physical test for a law enforcement position and barely meet the requirements for the 1.5 mile run. I need to shave off about 35 seconds from my time. I will be tested on a real track (6 laps). Any ideas from you runners out there?

My mother came up to me the other day and asked me if I want to run a half marathon with her. We pair up and each run 13 miles. The most I've ever run at one time if four miles, during my cross country season. I'm currently on winter track, and I also do spring track. I've only done cross country for one season, and I've recently become a strong distance sprinter. I've been doing track since 9th grade. But am I ready for 13 miles ? I do 5k's during the summer and have a personal best of 26:12. But 13 miles seems a little scary. Are my highschool practices enough to prepare for this half marathon. And if not what do I do ? I'm just nervous and need some advice. Any answers are greatly appreciated.

I'm going to do track for the first time as soon as spring comes around, and some tips on form would be nice. I don't really know what I'm going to do so I can't get anymore specific than that.
