1) Introduce weight training into your fitness regime. Lifting heavy weights with a low number of reps ("maxing out") will result in muscular hypertrophy & increase the number of fast-twitch glycolytic fibres in your muscles. Good exercises are single or double leg squats, bench press or lunges.
2) Dynamic exercises. Anything like power-cleans, bounding or hopping uphill will improve the speed of your muscle contraction.
3) Sprint training of course! Short fast reps, long recovery preferably on a track at your local club. Example sessions include 60-100m flat out with 3min rest x6
