I run downstairs, across my driveway and into my car.

95% of my year is spent training for marathons so I average 50-60 miles a week until 6 weeks before a race then I bump it up. The only time of year I can let loose is the week after a race, sometimes.
I run six days a week with an average of 8 miles per-day. The only cross training I'll ever really do in swim. I can bike but it's too complicated!

Usually on average about 6 miles a day. Over the summers can get up to about 50 miles a week.

I normally run 3 times a week.
During the week I run 4-6 miles. I do my long run on the weekends, depending what I'm training for, I'll do 9-12 miles on average, but sometimes up to 15 miles.

Running about 3 miles 2-3 times a week and a mile once gets my total up to 7-10 miles a week, which is excellent for running competitively, such as at 5K's and 10K's. Speed work on the mile is usually the best.

every other day you should do a longer run. i was on cross country and we won states. i have a bunch of workouts if you interested. but anyways i would run hard on the 2.5 mile days and then take it easy on the 5 mile days. Also do an abb workout later in the day on the 2.5 mile days. it will feel like you did more.

I normally run 3-4 days per week depending on what else is going on. I have a 3 mile loop and a 5 mile loop that I will alternate. My long run on Sunday is anywhere from 10-18 miles :)

Over the course of a 30 year running involvement I found 2.5 miles to be my most frequently run distance (I've run every distance from 5K to marathons).
It's a nice distance. Get's the ticker beating and doesn't tear up the body. You could run it every day and not kill yourself while getting in great shape (if you were just starting out).
