If your questions is: Who is the most famous TRACK athlete currently running? then the answer has to be Justin Gatlin because he won the 2004 Athens Olympics 100m Final, 2005 Helsinki World Championships 100m and 200m Final and has been banned from track for 8 years for failing a test. but Asafa Powell is also very good too, he has ran 9.77(world record) 3 times.

Tiger Woods, if your question is: Who is the most famous athlete now?
Edit: Sorry I didn't see the category as running. Nobody is famous in running, I would say. I would have to put the most famous runner as Roger Bannister, the first man who ran the mile in under 4 minutes. Now, probably Marion Jones, I suppose, especially with the BALCO controversy.
