I had just completed a 5k cross country run yesterday and i felt like dropping dead afterwards. I did not run in a fast pace as i alwasy felt as if my legs were as heavy as sand bags whenever i tried to..and my inhaling and exhaling wasn't help much.. I am a 28 years old lady standing at 168cm and weighing at 57kg. I admitted for not running frequently to improve my speed as I thought I have only endurance to complete a race and no problem. But only when I saw many of the runners yesterday ran with a constant and steady speed naturally and easily without slowing down like chicken feet..I felt so much like a snail..your tips and advises are most appreciated. Thank you very much.

I guess it is very hard to achieve a 30-minute 10000-meter time(on the track).
What do you suggest me if I want to make it?

I have somewhat flabby thighs and I am looking to lose some weight. Im on a diet and have been jogging. Trouble is I live in a hilly area and that requires me to jog downhill and/or uphill when I want to workout outside. I am trying to trim my thighs and not enlarge them, will this do the opposite of what Im trying to attain?

I run on my treadmill every day for 15-45 mins. Some days I do long jogs, and other days i do fast shorter runs. I run 2-5 miles a day usually at around 7.5 MPH. I was wondering, will this running make me faster, or will it simply make me more cardio vascularly endurant?

im a sophmore in high school and i think i really want to run cross country and maybe track in college. now i dont think im good enough for a division 1 school but im okay with D2. i know im not gonna be amazing but i just like competing and i love running. my pr for the 5k is like 20.00min and i think i can def. break that in xc during my next two years, and my pr for the 2mile is 12.30, and 5:50 for the mile. sowhat do people going into these divisions typically run for a 5k or 1 or 2 mile? and what would be some good colleges to look at?

In other words is 1 mile a mile whether I run it in 20 mins or 30 mins? Or should I just run for 45 mins no matter how many miles I cover? Or should I go really fast for like 5 mins and burn out? They say interval training is best but that is the 2nd part of the question: how do I do that?

I'm running the school mile tomorrow morning at around 8:15 and I was wondering how I can improve my time of 7 minutes and 55 seconds. I know that's not very good but I've been running a mile every night for about a month and I've improved my time from 8 20 to 7 55. I wanna get around 7 30 but I don't have anymore time to practice. Any tips on how to get a better time??

Too many people sit around on there kahuna's all day...

I love running and if only it was mandatory to do 30 minutes every morning there would be a lot less pressure on the NHS...

I used to run to and from work everyday... 15 minutes each way for 3 years. Also played football with all the spare time we had after the work was all complete.

My experience is that every week that went past i could see dramatic changes in my respiration. My breathing was getting more fluent and controlled, my feet felt lighter and i did'nt have to stop for breath after a few months.

I see someone running and i just want to shout out ' RESPECT ' lol.

I always want to come home and jump on the tredmill or go to the gym, but once I get in the car, and get tired from the whole day it's just impossible to get motivated. I wake up very early, so running in the morning is not an option. Any suggestions on how to put on the gym shorts, shirt, shoes and start running?

I jog about two miles a day, just trying to lose some vanity pounds and get fit. I usually run the miles at 5.5 mph wearing bulky clothes to help get my heart rate up quicker and sweat more. I used to do 6 or 6.5 mph, but I couldn't run as long. Is it better to jog fast and shorter, or slower and longer?

We are all motivated in different ways to run. Some run to stay fit. Some run because they like to push themselves to accomplish something that they never thought they could do. Others just run for the heck of it. What gets you out of bed or off the couch to run?
