can anyone recommend a good brand (preferably in the range of $50-$60) or give me tips on how to ensure a good fit, etc?
I don't have a special running store in my area, so I'm not counting on the salesperson being that informed. I just have general sports stores around me.

I am a weight lifter but despite all that, I have been jogging often on and running some what.. The problem that i have when doing so is it seems that My foot and a certain point does not want to flex back i hear it's because of a muscle called tibialis how can i fix this problem when i get on my like 3rd lap foot does not want to flex back it kind f forces me to have to stop joggin and running i only get a short run because of this whats holding me back...

well i started running two times a day .every morning and in the evening.i run a mile and a half in the morning and at least 2 miles in the evening will this help me lose weight?and im also lifting weights..but im still eating junk food some times..

last weekend i was doing alot of running in place as a substitute for using my eliptical because i was out of town and wanted to excersize..on tuesday i started feeling a slight pain in my foot and around my toes, like i sprained or pulled something..{there was no swelling or bruising, so i dont think i fractured anything}..but later on that night i started noticing a very slight tingling sensation that would come and go on and off..the pain seems to be getting better, but i was just wondering if anybody might know what the tingling could mean? im planning on seeing a doctor if it doesnt get any better in the next few days, but i was just wondering if anybody has experienced this, or if anybody might be able to give me any insight at all into it...only serious comments please

After soccer season ended about a week ago, I have been running between two and three miles a day on the road in my neighborhood. About ten minutes into my run, my shins start to hurt. About ten minutes after I stop running, my shins stop hurting. Any ideas on how to make them stop hurting?

I saw someone on the track today doing lapse; he did a couple lapses and then ran one or two lapses backwards and then repeat the same thing again many times. Does anyone know the purpose of running backwards? What does that training do?

Okay, here's the thing. I used to run cross country in my freshman year (high school) but I quit running in my sophomore year because of a bad experience at my old school with my coach (I'm in a new school now). The school year is ending and I decided to run again but I don't know how to start. I love running and I still do so I don't want that bad experience stop me from doing what I love. Any tips, schedules, certain food restrictions, etc. that helped you? I really want to go back in cross country and I really would appreciate your answers. Thanks.

I run about 3 miles a day, usually everyday. How long do your shoes last you? I'm only getting about 2 months out of mine before they fall apart. I usually alternate between brands.

ok.. so i read other reviews and they said my shoes might not be good or just because you know because i run.

How do i know if its the Shoes or ME??

I'm an american living in lebanon so i dont have money and i dont have access to big Nike stores so what can help

And i dont want to buy new shoes if the shin splints are caused by me or whatever!!

I am a runner and i have always run on the ball of my feet. I keep hearing that it is not good for my feet or legs and that i should run heel to toe, rolling my foot. That gives me shin splints and seems to put more starin on my legs. Are there any running shoes out there that are better for my style of running?

im 23, a guy, trying to get back into running for the summer. im trying to figure out what all i need to do to build my endurance so i can run more and/or get some results while im building it up....in addition, when running outside this summer, what should i wear/not wear?

i am training for the mile for the next year and which is a beter weekly schedule

Sunday- rest/light running
Monday-2 miles
Tuesday-400m sprints (speed)
Wednesday-3 miles (endurance)
Thursday- light running/jogging (1mile-1 1/2miles)
Friday- Timed mile run.
Saturday- 2-3 mile run.

or

Sunday- off.
Monday - go on a long (for you) slow run -- say 4 miles
Tuesday - go to the track and jog 1/4 mile then run the straight-aways (110 yards or 100m) at about 7/8 speed for a mile
Wednesday - off
Thursday - 2 or 3 miles just short of 'fast' speed.
Friday - intervals 1/4 mile at 1/2 of your full out sprint for 1.5 or 2 miles
Saturday - long slow jog

or

Sunday – Rest/ride bike
Monday - run a few minutes to warm up, then run for half a mile- three times, with walking breaks in between.
Tuesday- 2-3 miles every 2-3 weeks add ½ mile to distance.
Wednesday – Rest/ridebike
Thursday – same as Monday
Friday – same as Tuesday
Saturday - rest/ride bike

no one seems to be able to...
I'm 5'2" 112 pounds and i want toned abs/ maybe even a 6 pack. what percent of body weight do i have to be? i'm 17% right now. if i did 30 minutes of abs 3-4 days per week plus pilates(3days) and running(everyday), how long would it take me? my measurements are bust: 36.5 waist: 26 hips:35.
