Get a good pair of Sports Shoes .If you can afford ones with Shock absorbers, all the better.Try to see if you have to run in a Park, preferably run on Grass instead of a cemented Track.
And push your body weight slightly forward while running.
If you are running to be in a Professional Team at State/National/International level, your coach would be a much better guide.

Keys:
High knees (ie knee drive)
Long stride-make sure the leg extend from the knee when running
Arms in 90 angle and keep then close to your body
keep your feet like an inch apart when running
Stay relax..dont be tense
Pump your arms
Lean into the curve sorta when you are running the curves
Little unknow fact.. Run as fast as you can like for the first 8 secs since your body hasnt develop any lactic acid yet
Stay on your toes
Work on your upper body (ie shoudlers
, arms, stomach). B/c arm drive= speed and good core =good balance
Stay straight and balance
That is pretty much it i think

I've learned the hard way that drinking too much before a race might give you a dry mouth. It's really important if you are a sprinter not to look down. If you are getting tired during the last couple of meters, and your legs feel like a million pounds, pump your arms harder and your legs will follow.

In the final 50 metres of a race - hold your breath. It's something which a lot of people don't realise helps you to maintain a good pace. Much longer than that and you may find it difficult to hold your breath while running though.

Have a good pair of shoes, carefully selected: select the place for running with a lot of care: gradually work up through a trot to a run: know your limits. as important as warming up, is cooling down! Have a good run!

Feet - with comfortable shoes, if surface is soft like sand etc then may not be reqd
Muscles - Stretching & Warmup before start, cool down slowly in end
Running - start slowly with pacing yourself accordingly to comfort
Target - If you are doing it regularly then increase distance / speed every week
