I jogged around for years in a pair of Converse boots and was always covered in massive blisters. I've recently switched to a pair of Nike running trainers and although this has stopped any occurrences of shin splints I still get blisters. Any suggestions?

Basically, blisters occur because of friction between your feet and your shoes. It can also occur between your toes when they rub against each other.

To avoid this friction, you should wear shoes and socks that fit, but not too well. Your laces should not be too tight. Your socks should fit smoothly, with no extra fabric at the toes or heels.

Moisture also contributes to the formation of blisters. Socks made of synthetic fibers wick moisture away from the skin. Cotton may be lighter, but it retains fluid, which may cause blisters. There are plenty of "blister-free" sock options out there at running stores, and they're all about the same to me.

Since you know where on your feet that you are prone to get blisters, you can also apply petroleum jelly beforehand to reduce friction. Personally, I like to use the Body Glide lubricant, but Vaseline is just as good.

A common cause of blisters is the extra movement and friction caused by an improperly fitted sneaker. I would recommend that you either wear a thicker sock to counteract the extra movement, or get a new pair of running shoes. In my experience Reebok shoes have been the most comfortable to run in. Hope this helps!

you may want to change the way you move when running. You will have to run lighter like a jog. Other then that you will have to really be up too it and run like a madman. Then you will have to run with blisters (try extra socks) and make your feet calloused and hard.

Someone gave you the link to Road Runner Sports. Get the double layer socks. They stopped my blisters. They're just 2 layers of material in one sock. They should fix your problem.

Wear two pairs of socks. First a thin, snug fitting pair then, your regular running socks. The two pair greatly dissipate friction.

A really good pair of running sneakers and thin snug socks. If they are too loose they're just going to rub against your skin.

Don't wear socks when running. That solved the blister problem for me.

this relies upon on the place the blisters are. in the event that they are on your ft, purchase some frictionless socks from a working or activities shop. if your legs are rubbing, positioned on bicycle shorts. if your arm is rubbing, maximum folk use Vaseline. if your nipples chafe, positioned band-aids over them
