I run 2-3 times a week, 2-3 miles each time somtimes more. This summer I have competed in two races. One was an 8k and I finished in 2052 out of 9033 runners. The second was a 5k and I finished 29 out of 170 runners. Someone asked me the other day if I was a runner. What do you think?

Sneakers in color black or dark gray that also alleviate the impact on knees and other joints, that are good for running and working out. Please provide links if you can. Thank you.

Running :Track vs. Treadmill I know outside is ultimately a better workout as far as using more energy but I just want to know if anybody knows what a good translation for my time from a treadmill to a track might be for example I run a 10:03 1.5 mile race on a treadmill but can that translate into a 12:55 1.5 mile race on an outside track or will my time be closer to the treadmill given that I maintain a good pace like I do on the treadmill or do you think my time will be a lot worse than 10:03.
thanks

Its not a competitive run, but I want to run and not walk. I don't want to be gasping for air. I work out regularly....I use the elliptical for about 30 mins and do a weight routine about 3x a week.

Suggestions appreciated!

This coming Monday (10th) i have athletic try outs!!! I never tried professional running before, but now i have no choice, other wise my team will have to forfeit because we dont have enough people!
Do you guys have any tips on how to run faster in short distances? (not that short)
I find it easier to run barefoot, but is it not allowed or something? Or are the "orange rubber olympic running floors" too hurtful on your feet?
Is there a special diet i should go on to give me more energy?(i'm 5 foot 3 and 38 kg- thats borderline underweight)
Is there something about running on your toes that make you faster???
I have no room to practice at home, so any recomended exercises?
Thanks yall!!!!

P.S. its short distance running and i need an answer before monday 10th of August! Thankyou so much!!!! :)

pain, like I feel so very uncomfortable around that area, why is it so?

I suppose it's because of the large breast size?

What should I do? Should I replace running with brisk walk?

also, does running/jumping make your breasts sag?

I was just wondering if listening to music while they run is prohibited.

Like do the marathons runners have the option to take an IPOD with them and listen to it while they run? I don't see how it would be cheating, but just wondering...

I just got interested in running a marathon. I have never been a runner. I need advice as to how to train, how to land on my feet the right way, what to eat to train, gels, supplements, vitamins -- what should I take. Its September and the marathon is in June so I have some time. Thanks!

I moved into a new state, I have noo idea how to even leave my house without getting lost. And the weather is really hot and humid so it's hard for me to breathe.

So would walking and running in place be the same as walking outside?

I am looking for headphones that stay in when you're running and are comfortable. I have been using the headphones that came with my iPod, but they always fall out while I'm running. Has anyone had the same problem and have found a pair that works really well?!

I have heard that it is not good to run the day before you are running in a half-marathon...is this true? If it is true, can I still do some other sort of cardio/exercise? I would like to exercise the day before, maybe some sort of bike exercise, elliptical machine or jump roping?

I am planning to do the LA Marathon (which is 26.2 miles) in March 2008 and I admire all those people who have accomplished it. Considering the fact that I can only run 2 miles w/out breaking down, I am pretty much a beginner. I want to start training now. For those people out there who have ran a marathon, what is the best way to train as a beginner? Can you please include a certain schedule that I must do each day of the week counting down to March? Thanks!
