I'd like to download some good running songs onto my mp3 player to run to.
I don't really care what genre of music as long as it gets you moving.

maybe some hard rock, techno, dance, or anything.

here are some of the songs i usually listen to when im running so maybe something like these:

Headstrong by Trapt
Prayer of the Refugee by Rise Against
Awakening by Switchfoot
Last Resort by Papa Roach
Los Angeles by Sugarcult
Misery Business by Paramore
The Way I Are by Timbaland
Heels Over Head by Boys Like Girls

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I was a high school trackstar.
High school was looooong ago..
My 1st 5K I ran 36:50
My 2nd was 34:44
I would like to get down progressively, but I am
committed. I am in good health, but had
an 11 lb. baby 10 months ago, have severe
anemia and need to loose some weight. I can
run the whole way without stopping, but I go
so slowly!
I'm 5'10, a lot of muscle, 188 pounds (I look slimmer)
and have a whole lot of heart.
It was raining both race days.
I have good shoes now.
Can't think of what other details you might want.
Please give your best advice.
Thanks!

Goal: 24 minutes or better...
Past events: 400M dash and Mile relay... I was fassst

Has anyone tried using compression shorts to avoid running injuries? Do they work?

Hi I ran Spring Track last year in middle school, my best time was 5:49. I started training for Cross Country at my High School. We run about 6-10 miles a day, after about 2 months of training I decided to time myself on the mile just to see what I could run, which is now 4:57. I want to work on my foot speed for Spring Track this year at high school. My goal is to run 4:40 in the 1600 meter race. Is this possible for me to do? Please list some speed training regiments for me. Thanks.

I am trying to loose weight. I have been working out with a trainer and on my own since June. So far I have lost 19lbs. I am starting to get bored with my workouts so I wanted to try jogging. Tonight I jogged for about twenty minutes doing intervals of aprox. 60 seconds of jogging and then walking for 90 seconds.

My feet - especially my heels are killing me! My ankles are also hurting. I am wondering if this is just normal for just starting to jog or if I am still to heavy to do this yet. I still need to loose about 85lbs to be at a healthy weight. And yes that is accurate according to my doctor and trainer.

I feel great and would really like to start jogging but I don't want to injure my body. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

And my shoes are newish - about a month old...

I really wanna quit cross country. I have no fun nor am I any good. My coach doesn't know what she is doing, so we have to run mile repeats (3 of them) on this cement track near my school. This may not seem tough to some of you, but it is tough for us out-of-shape middle schoolers. This gave me really bad shin splints and she is going to make us do this once every week. My shins can't take that. Also, I was top runner returning but than my coach recruited a bunch of lungs on legs, who are cocky and very lazy. I get so sick of hearing them talk about themselves. And our coach makes us cheer for our teammates... during the workouts!!! And one time my coach made me run when my shin splints were bad, so everyone was cheering me on. It was embarassing. My heart isn't in this sport, and I can't enjoy a good hobby of mine. So I brought up the idea of quitting to my parents and they started screaming at me. "you aren't not f$$cking going to quit." I am running out of space, so I will post more

It's not an issue of my shoes being too tight, because I used to run in much tighter shoes and never had this problem before. Am I tying them wrong or something?

I absolutely can't stand cross country anymore. I love running, but I can't stand this year in terms of cross country. My new coach (who is a complete idiot) makes us do track workouts on the cement track in the early part of the cross country season. We do about 1 or 2 track workouts a week. My shin splints kick in like crazy and I try to explain to her that I need to stop, but some people just won't bend. Also none of my friends are in it, which made the season last year some fun. Also, I used to be good, which is another added bonus why I used to like it. But now I suck, and makes me depressed. I would really like to get myself kicked off the team by skipping all of the practices but two of my three coaches are my teachers in school. My case of shin splints are getting worse and worse and my heart isn't into it this season. I am not happy anymore, and Worse of all my parents won't let me quit. They have the ego of, if you joined the season you are going to finish it.

I run roughly 20 - 25 miles a week, but I always feel sick after my long runs 10 + miles. I ran 12 miles yesterday and had bad stomach problems and diaherria right afterwards. I dont eat junk food or drink, I usually eat lean protiens, pastas, salads, an occasional sweet. Is this a sign of dehydration?

I used to run 5-8 miles daily and walk to and from work (total walking of 1hr30 mins)...I would do a long run on the weekend of 15 miles. Four years ago, I got hit by a speeding car while handing out resumes in a new city I'd just moved to. I walked away with just brusing and a "rope'" in my knee...my knees gave me great pain and altho I tried to keep running, even after I had my daughter five years ago, when I started 2 days after my c-section...I did this for a year before the pain in my knees just killed it for me.

I've been to the doctors four years ago, they always were dumb founded...about the pain and then how I'd walk away from a car accident without a broken bone or fracture. But the pain persisted in my knees when I ran and then my bones started clicking in the joints.

Now I want to start up running again, I'm competitive and think I should just be able to get back up to speed again...Any word of advice would be appreciated-thank you.

I was thinking some grilled carrots, onions, celery and sweet potato, baked chicken and lots of water. Then a banana and coffee, maybe some yogurt tomorrow? What's better?
