Just take in the air you need to run at the speed you are running. It doesn't make any difference how you breath the air goes to your lungs at the same time. Some people can not get air in through their noses. Do not gasp or pant, take full deep breaths. Your ability to uptake the air you breath is determined by your cardiovascular conditioning, the more you run the better your system is going to be. Don't count steps and worry about breathing in and breathing out just breath.Relax your arms and hands, and shoulders. Stand up straight if you bend over you are compressing the size of your lungs.

What you can do is that while running, take breaths according to your footsteps, like run once with the left leg and then the right and breath in, then leave it while you put the left leg and then the right leg. At first you will feel more breathless then before but at a latter stage you will start having a combination of breathing techniques.

Isn't just that you need to get fitter in general?
If you fitter, you get amount of oxygen used when you breath becomes greater, and is more efficiently transfered to the parts of your body.

breath in thru your nose and out thru your mouth. this helps combat that dry feeling in your throat. draw long breaths and keep the same pace of your breaths.
