i consider myself to be a pretty good runner i went to the OFSAA (pretty much all-state i guess) last by finishing third in 9th in my region. school starts in a week and today will be my second day in trainging for the 7 events about to come. I'm in gr 10, age 15, and i want to know if it is healthy running 7 times a week.

No. That's over training. Your muscles get stronger when you rest. High strength training take 48 hours full healing.

If you run distance, distance 3 days, speed work two days.
If sprints, speed work 3 days, recovery distance runs 2 days.

If you take two days off, you can work really hard the other 5. One of the secrets of elite athlete's.

only run every other day a week maximum. if you run more, you could easily get shin splints. in case you dont know what that is, thats when ur muscles get over worked and too stretched out and can ache and hurt for about 1-2 days. so run every other day for however long you can last really. i would suggest 1-2.5 hours at the most. hope i helped and good dropping weight!

Almost every injury or illness I can trace to consecutive days of running without a day off. 1 Day off per week is a must.

Well i run 7xs a week also for crosscountry and track and that is healthy but also u should ride a bike sometimes it will help your legs to get stronger thats wat ive been doin all summer runnin and ridin a bike i run 4miles everyday!!!So just keep runnin and drink lots of water and gatorade

You should take off one day and not run more than 6 days per week.

Running every day isn't totally bad, but you should alternatethe types of runs between sprints and distance and even weight training.
