Sprinting is a high-risk, high-return exercise for hardened runners only. If you are over weight (greater than 20% body fat) you should not ever sprint! You will get injured and then be incapable of any physical activity, which is the worst case scenario.

Brisk walking or jogging is the thing for you. You'll need spongy running shoes to give you enough shock protection and to prevent micro-stress fractures in your bones. If you choose to walk, make sure your pulse is at least 120 beats per minute or else you won't get a good enough workout to make a difference. Watch out for the heat since anything over 80 (or 85 with low humidity) will add a lot of strain to your body.

If you want some anaerobic exercise, do it on a bicycle or in a pool. This will allow you to train harder without the extra shock of running (but keep the pulse under 170). I noticed a lot more stress on my legs when I gained ten pounds; if you are heavy, it can really cause a serious injury. If you get regular check ups at a doctor (recommended), you can have your blood tested for body fat percentage. Your first goal should be to get down to 20%, then if you really want to run you can run long, slow distance (LSD, man!) to burn the fat.

Sprinting burns sugar not fat. You need to exercise for at least 30 minutes before you really burn fat, although burning the sugar for shorter workouts does prevent your body from converting it into more fat. Building muscle from anaerobic exercise does change the metabolism and slim you down, but running hard is too risky if you are heavy and I would recommend slow jogging or speed walking until you are trim enough to run. Even when you get in shape, you should be running for six months at an even pace before you get into sprinting. Most injuries come from speed workouts, not jogging.

The best way to lose weight is running and walking. Do not sprint. Just run easy until you need to walk and then walk until you feel like running again. It is a matter of distance. You will use about 100 calories for each mile you cover. If you can jog/walk for 30 minutes you have a good start. Control your calories and exercise 3 to 5 times each week. After a month you will be able to run much farther and increase your distance.

There is not a person alive on the planet who can sprint a mile haha. Even sprinting a quarter of a mile at top speed is almost impossible, save for Olympian athletes. Just try brisk walking first, and then slowly ease your way up to running for a few minutes, then walking some more, then running a bit more and walking a bit less, etc, until you can jog a full mile! And you can do what you want from there. :) Good luck

You can't sprint, sprinting is to run as fast as you can well trying to build up speed in a certain amount of steps. You have to be lean and fast to sprint, and it's very close to impossible to sprint a mile, that's why there are sprinters and long distance runners. Us sprinters run the 100, 200, and 400 meter races. Long distance run the half a mile, a mile, and two mile races. Long distance runners have better endurance for long runs then sprinters, but sprinters are more likely to beat a long distance runner in a sprint.

Im no longer quite certain in the case of extra stunning whilst evaluating the 2, however almost always a sprinter is quite massive and ripped and a distance runner is lean and reduce up. Personally i suppose distance jogging is extra a laugh than sprinting purpose it quite takes a few middle to do it and sprinting is extra bodily then intellectual in which as distance jogging is close to complete intellectual capacity as an alternative than bodily. One will have to usually decide upon distance jogging purpose i actually do it and from my revel in its the satisfactory factor that has occurred to me. In distance jogging it's almost always no longer that difficult to upgrade your occasions except they're already quite well.
