I am a beginner runner with low arch. I need good motion control support shoes. $ is important. But, how well the shoes supports your motion to avoid injury is more important.

What I did is to research the type of shoes I need first and then look for a retail shop that has bargain shoes.

I went to http://www.runnersworld.com/0,7118,,00.html to see the foot type I am. I need motion control shoes that tailor for low arch person like me.

Then, I went to various shoe web sites (Asics, Avia, Adidas, Mzuno,...etc) to research particular models for motion control. Surprisingly, not all vendor has motion control models.

Then, I also compare the shoe review from Runner World, Runner Network to narrow down a few.

Then, I look for factory outlets that carries those shoes.

I got the Adidas AdiFusion in $22 in a factory outlet. The Adidas site list it $130. I have been running with it for a few weeks already. I also walk with in during non-running days. I am happy with it.

You don't want much from a shoe, do you? All that and low price, too? Well, try Reebok. I wore them for 12 and 16 hour shifts of nursing, from the year they came out until I retired in 2004, if that tells you anything about the comfort factor and how good the brand is. Lots of sites on the web sell Reebok.

That ought to keep you busy. By the way, I'm not real crazy about zappos.com. Their customer service is great, but for some reason, their shoes never seem to fit just right.

I like sketchers. I work on my feet all day and all my coworkers say sketchers are the best. I have black ones, white ones and grey ones. I put on 6 miles a day on average on my feet. Usually on the move the whole time.
