since most people who can run at all will run a mile in 6-12 minutes or less, the positive cardio and muscle building effects will be much better from jogging for half an hour which is likely to cover something like 3 miles. Changing pace for an occasional wind sprint will improve the exercise.

From what I have read, you burn the same amount of calories whether you run or jog; however, if you jog for 30 minutes, you burn less calories than running for 30 minutes because you would not have gone the same distance. If your purpose is to burn calories, then it's your choice because running for 1 mile or jogging for one mile burn the same amount. If you would like to become a faster runner, then go for the mile. If you would like to relax and exercise at the same time, then jogging is the answer.

I hope this proves quite useful!

mike is correct you are much better off exercising for 30 minutes rather than running a mile.

The benefit to your cardiovascular system is determined by the amount of exercise, and running a mile is not long enough to do anything for it.

You need to run or jog for at least 20 minutes to have any training benefit.

It's better to jog for 30 minutes since usually a mile takes less time. so there would be more exercise involved.

For any work out routine it solely depends on the intensity at which it is done and the intensity in which the the person can endure safely and efficiently. Which ever you feel you get the most benefit from is the one you should stick with.

you're strolling 10-minute miles. that's good, particularly under the circumstances. i will wager it gets your heart fee up. amplify the size and vigour of your exercises slowly. you're going large! As a assessment, 15-minutes miles (4 mph) is a energetic stroll. If that's uphill, that's an extremely energetic stroll.
