to start with you must run more than 2 miles every 2 or 3 days. That is not enough to get better.
Try running 5 times each week. After you are used to running the distance then begin running harder 2 days each week.

Run tempo, which means you run at 80% of maximum speed for the entire distance.
Run fartlek, which means you run, then sprint for a while the distance depends on you and your event, but it should be at least 200 meters and up to 800 meters, then jog until you can do it again, you do this over your normal training distance.

You can go to the track and after warming up run intervals from 200 to 800 meters
Run the distance and then rest for a short period of time and then run again.

The number of times you sprint the distance and the amount of rest between can change. the faster or longer the distance the more rest, the shorter and/or shorter the less rest.
Do at least 4 of each distance but only one distance each day.

Run easy 3 days each week, do one day of tempo, one day of fartlek, one day of intervals.
You will be able to increase your easy distance after 1 month.

Do exercises during your warm-up or cool-down that stretch the muscles, like leg lunges or knee highs. These will increase your gait and make you more flexible. Other than that, just keep running, but don't run just on the track, run on hills and trails.

like you said, just do it...set a course for your self... 2 or 3 miles and try to get faster...
indian run is when you're in a group and you all start running in a single file line, then the person at the back sprints to the front, when they get to the front the person who was infront of them sprints to the front etc...

Having a strucutred plan is essential.

You are advised to do a mix of training which incorporates resistance (weights), VO2 max conditioning and interval/fartlek training.

There are lots of free programmes,
but one of the best I found was

Good luck

You provide nothing upon which to base an intelligent answer. It would be helpful to know where you are now and your level of fitness, miles you run now, etc.
