At the last supper Jesus sat down with his Apostles and said, "This is My body, " not This only represents my body. Or This only symbolizes my body, but he said "THIS IS MY BODY." Why do you refuse to believe what Jesus said?

Some guy tried to argue that since Joseph Stalin was an atheist that all atheists must be just like him. So I pointed out to him that Hitler was a Roman Catholic. He said "well Hitler wasn't a real Christian." Just because someone doesn't follow the teachings of the Bible does not make that person an atheist by default. If you believe in God, but do not follow his teachings, you may not be a real Christian, but if you believe in God you are not a real atheist either. I don't blame all christians for what Hitler did. Hitler was one person. I am not going to blame a whole group of people for the actions of one person. Why do Christians have to blame all us atheists for the actions of one person.

ive read it over so many times but dont get it so wat do you think: John 4:18

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Should God have taught Adam and Eve about good and evil before placing the tree of knowledge and the serpent in the Garden with them? Surely God knew the nature of the serpent.

I can tell a 18 month old not to play with matches and feel comfortable leaving them lying about, if the child then proceeds to burn the house down thus killing several family members. I guarantee you the law would be holding me accountable, not the child.

As we mature, we gain perspective on why certain actions should be avoided, we are aware of the ramifications.

Adam and Eve had no such points of reference, just like children they were easily influenced, how then are they responsible for the fall of all mankind? Do you think that A and E had any inkling as to gravity of their actions?

As parents we instruct our children, provide guidance and act as rolemodels for them. We don't just impose rules and leave them to fend for themselves.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is God both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

This is an open, hopefully non-bashing question. Many times here, a Christian will say that a REAL Christian believes that real Christians didn't participate in the Witch burnings. Also, many times here, a Witch will say that a REAL Witch don't even exist.

Can you offer something that is a myth about what you are:

Real Witches don't...

OR

Real Christians don't...

If you would also like to say what REAL Witches/REAL Christian Do do, please feel free!

I'll start. I am a Witch, and real Witches don't believe in harming anyone. Real Witches do believe that there are many true spiritual paths. And real Witches really do exist!

The Greatest Love Song
Do You Know Jesus
By Mike McCracken

(chorus)
Do you know Jesus?
And how He loves us
How He died just to save us
Just because, He loves us

Judas betrayed Him
Who once was His friend
They beat, flogged and scourged Him
To where He didn’t look human

A crown of thorns on His head
Just another place where He bled
Humiliated in every way
Why, they even tore His clothes away

And there wasn’t any time loss
To where, they made Him carry the cross
To drive nails through His hands
He’s more than just a man

And Jesus still loved them
After all they did to Him
He did this for us too
When He said, “Father forgive them,
for they know not what they do.”

Jesus said that there is no greater love that a man can give than that he lay down his life for another.

Another poster's question inspired this one. Where is it? What's on it? What's your religion?

.............................

(My religion is a blend of Christianity, Spiritualism, and Mysticism with strong roots in Catholicism. So I have a picture of the Sacred heart surrounded by candles with different saints on them, rose incense, sandlwood, and a light crystal and a dark crystal side by side.)

Dear God:
I know that I'm a sinner. I deserve Hell. But You sent Jesus to die for my sins. I believe that He died and rose again. I ask you now to forgive my sins, once an for all. I now receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Personal Saviour. Please come into my heart and save me, Help me to know I am saved and live for You, the rest of my life. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.

I dont believe in god but dont sin in life, maybe the odd time, but nothing major at all. I consider myself to be a kind person and generally try and do things right. Spending an eternity in hell seems like a pretty harsh punishment for me doesnt it, purely because i have my own thoughts. If you say i am going to hell then is god just as bad as hitler, he doesnt like what i belive in so i must burn?

Well I have no motivation to go to church.
I think godly talk and the Bible is way boring.
I don't pray and if I do it's because my mom makes me.
I haven't gone through confirmation and I'm 15.
I don't know what I really believe deep inside.
My family is at church right now and my mom didn't make me go so I didn't.

I'm againt the Christian morals of:
Modesty. I don't think we should have to hide our talents.

Anti-homosexuallity. I support gays/lesbiens/and bis

Sex after marrige [sp?]. I think people should have sex when they feel the moment is right.

I used to love going to church when I was in 4th and 5th grade and I'm afraid that I have grown to believe that God isn't real. I don't want to go to "Hell" though. Any suggestions, anything at all?!

Jesus was tortured and killed by the government. Why then to Republican Christians permit torture and the death penalty?

I mean, I know, it's hard. It's always part of you, but IT DOESN'T DEFINE YOU. Don't you think psychologists spend too mcuh time bogged down in problems, instead of moving on?
I mean, I got beaten, I got tortured, I got raped, I got left pregnant by myself, what didn't I get done to me? I spent time on the streets, I tried killing myself, I spent time in shelters, but now I'm HAPPY because I've moved on from that.
And at the end of the day, it's your ability to move on and forgive and have fun with life and love the people around you that matters, and focus on your family, not whatever happened to you in the past.
Don't you think that's what psychologists shoudl focus on?

I mean, it's so much easier with religion to move on with stuff, it doesn't focus on getting into the prolbem, it focuses on accepting and moving on.
