Do you agree or disagree with that and why? And what is your personal view on the existence of God?

they keep saying that the Jews, the Catholics, the Atheists, or whoever else that don't believe the way they do, are going to hell.

I don't mean to generalize, it's just because the majority of the Bible-fundamentalists seem to have that attitude.

I am a Baptist and today our minister was talking about the danger of cults and said that the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints is a cult because it tries to replace Christianity and has hijacked the name of Our Lord Jesus.

He also exclaimed that he was shocked that anyone would join a church that had condoned polygamy and it's evils. But I would like to know all of the reasons why LDS is a fringe cult.

= disbelief in all possibility of god? How does that make sense? Please read on (I usually get a lot of responses immediately stating, "see: agnostic". Believe it or not, an agnostic can be an atheist, and vise versa.)

"I don`t believe there is anything at all. I came to this conclusion many years ago through reading, reasoning eg: the fossil record, carbon 14 dating evidence, astronomical observations, the list goes on. Virtually everything in the bible can be disproved. If you believe in a God you may as well believe in The Flying Spaghetti Monster."

Here's how this argument looks...

Premise 1: Virtually everything in the bible can be disproved.
Conclusion: God doesn't exist.

Alright... if we revised the conclusion to say,

Conclusion: The biblical, Abrahamic God is a fictional character,

I would be much more comfortable with this argument. But the truth is, inductive reasoning in saying that the Bible being disproved, disproves all possibilities, is fallacious.

Explain?

Atheists sometimes call themselves free thinkers, but how can you be a free thinker if you have closed your mind to other possibilities?

You cannot disprove the existence of god, so atheism is EXACTLY as irrational as theism.

Or do some of you use the term atheist for its phobic value and are actually toothfairy agnostics.

explanation of toothfairy agnostic: There is no way to prove or disprove the existence of the toothfairy but we all can agree on the unlikelyhood of its existence.....the UNLIKELYHOOD.

Your thoughts?

What would you do if someone you value & trusted told you that praying & being humble to God was weak? This person says I must demand God to do as I need. I know God hears my every word, thoughts & prayers, but demands? This person also knows I wasn't raised very far regliously, but that I have a strong spiritual connection with God on my own.

I feel somewhat torn now, as this person is on her own spiritual path, and I have always believed being humble & asking God for help and understood that it was His will that would provide my path. Am I wrong in believing that demanding from God is a bad thing? Plus I'm having a hard time distinguishing if this person is so far on her spirtual path that there is a need to "influence" my beliefs. Does the Bible reference demanding from God?

Why must the different groups condemn each other because their beliefs are different?
Why can't we all just accept that everyone was brought up differently, and so we all have different values and beliefs, and that nobody's beliefs are wrong because everyone is entitled to their own beliefs? Just like opinions.
People should be more open-minded.
