I give an an opinion -- A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof (http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/entry/opinion) -- someone feel sthe need to give a thumbs down to a statement that is respectful of the asker, and the community. Have people become so think skinned that an opposing position is a threat?

In the words of a very good friend, "Opinions are like @ssholes. Everyone's got one."

Grab six or seven dice and roll them at the same time. Will they come up the same? Probably not, but if you roll them over and over eventually they will, even if it takes years, and when they do, it will look like a pattern but really, it is just chance. Can't people see at least the possibility that over billions and billions of years, the universe could settle down in what seems like a pattern but is really chance? Given that much time? I'm not trying to convert anybody to anything, I'm just trying to get someone to see that an orderly universe happening by chance is not that unrealistic given the time frame we are talking about.

The particuler phrase I'm looking for goes something like this: the day will come when good will be called evil and evil will be called good.

I'd be so grateful if you could help me. I can't find it in my concise Strong's Concordance of the Bible because the editors decided that the word "good" is not one that the reader is likely to use in searching for particular passages in Scripture. I've also tried the various on-line concordances found at BibleGateway.com, but to no avail. Thanks.

"You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. " (James 2:20-24)

and

"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done." (Rev. 20:12:13)

Due to a reduction in health service finance, hospitals are having to reduce the number of chaplains who are employed within them:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7032265.stm

Given the empirical research which clearly shows that prayer and other religious devotions carried out in hospitals make a significant difference regarding whether a patient survives or not, is it not the case that these cuts will put the lives of patients at risk?

I have seen multiple questions on this subject in the last 3 weeks I been here. I have answered the ones I saw, but folks aren't hearing it.

When I was in the military I had a room mate who was a preacher's son. He hated God because his best friend died in accident. His dad the preacher told him that God took his friend home, thus putting the death on God.

And so he became bitter. Reasonably so, based on that falehood.. Once I shared teh follow truth with him, he was no longer angry with God.

Q. Why do bad things happen? Accidents, death... does God kill?

A. Jesus said,

John 10: MKJV
10 The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

When the world was made it was perfect. God gave Adam authority over the earth, but Adam sinned and gave the authority to satan.

I just watched on the History Channel the story on Mary Magdelah and their are two different view points on her (well three is you are not Christian of course lol but assuming you are Christian then) what is your view point on Her? Was she his wife? just a follower? Is the egg turning red in front of the Emperor Tiberius true and the origins of the Easter egg?

Please tell me what you Christians think, I am not Christian so the story and two view points are interesting to me and I wish to learn and I can learn best by reading and also listening. regardless if I believe or not, i still am intrigued. I hope I will get some good answers and please any NON Christians I understand your want to say something about it not being real or such...IM not a Christian either so its pointless with me...I am asking them because i have interest in their view point on this and if you have an opinion other than that please answer then just no bashing please of anyone..TY

Can anyone find fault with the following?:-

o Assume there was a 'first' Chicken, before which there were none.
o Its parent looked like a chicken in every way, but had some tiny genetic difference that meant it was not actually one.
o Some genetic process - mutation by radiation or a toxin; copying errors during meiosis; the pairing of the 'pre-chicken' with a 'pre-rooster' - eliminated that difference and produced a fertilised ovum that had the genome of a true chicken.
o That ovum was encapsulated in an egg, and laid by the proto-chicken.
o The egg itself contains no (significant) genetic material.
o The developing embryo therein was a true chicken.
o Therefore the egg was the first true chicken egg. Ignoring later genetic drifts in chicken genomes, the egg would be identical to all subsequent chicken eggs.
o When the egg hatched, the first chicken emerged, and the rest is poultry.

Anything wrong with that?

The Baptists teach that the Catholic Church and the Church of England are cults. The Baptist church has also picketed military funerals. See link below about the the Westboro Baptist church. But I am not a bit surprised that Baptists don't like the Catholic Church and the Church of England, as the KKK is even headed by the Baptist church. When did the KKK ever accept the Catholics! See the wikipedia link below.

The real query is about "wether life is there before death".And if it does exists--what is it's perspective? If consious is something then why the start is birth and end is death? If life is there, then how consious may be a state, without life&death?Hence if there is no existance of you,how can you die?

Do you think Yeshua was a real historical person?

Some people have suggested that "Jesus Christ" is a fiction, created by Paul, and advance as part of their argument the lack of referrence to Jesus in the contemporary record. While I agree that Paul's "Jesus" is fictionalized, I think that, all things considered, there is a factual person behind his fantasies -- Yeshua. Paul wasnt an idiot. If he had wanted to invent a god-man out of whole cloth, he would have done a much better job; coming up with something that had much more appeal to his Hellenistic and Roman audiences; somehow, a failed Jewish rebel doesnt cut it -- a point that Paul himself wasnt unaware of. That said, the "Jesus Christ" god-man he foisted on a gullible ancient world is certainly a pastiche, and only tenuously connected to Yeshua. He knew little, if anything about Yeshua, and probably only knew the Talmidin as adversaries.

Where does it say everybody go sell magazines and books and let them do the work for you? Where does it say you get to add your own spin to the Bible?

"And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. " -- Matthew 24:14

'And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” ' -- Matthew 28:19,20

"However, if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare
to you as good news something beyond what we
declared to you as good news, let him be accursed" - Galatians 1:6-9

CAN you even ONLY use the Bible? Really?

I can never understand how Mormons can be anti-abortion. What about extreme cases where the child would be born out of wedlock. Why should the woman be stuck with the embarrassment of having a bastard child?

What if the child would be born with a physical defect? Wouldn't it be better to terminate the baby than to have him live retarded or deformed? You guys really need to rethink your anti-abortion stance!!!

If I can't get an actual set please let me know where I can get the pattern. My tailor can copy anything!
