There are many different Baptist churches. Your generalization of Baptist produces unfair criticism of many Baptist churches that have nothing to do with Westboro.

SOME Baptists are bigoted. Even most Baptists are disgusted by the Pseudo-Christian Personality Cult centered around the figure of Fred Phelps (aka the Westboro "Baptist" Church)
The KKK is not necessarily HEADED by the Baptists, although many of their membership claim that denomination as their own. Many members of the KKK and other White Supremacist groups are actually members of something called the "Christian Identity" movement http://www.religioustolerance.org/cr_ident.htm

um, my virus detection software just warned me there was some dangerous file associated with this page. I use NOD32, and it is very good at such detections. Y'all should run a virus scan after coming here.
As for the question, the word bigot can be applied to most anyone who is convinced of the truthfulness of their own position as against someone else. I may be a mint ice cream bigot, but that in itself doesn't make me a bad person. On the other hand, if I’m an honesty bigot, that may mean I’m a good person. If truth matters at all, and I believe it does, then calling someone a bigot just because they disagree with you is itself a prejudicial act, and doesn’t help increase our understanding of each other. You mentioned the unpleasant acts of a handful of Baptists (who, by the way, are very much off the mainstream theologically, I know about that group), yet you do not mention the horrors of the Spanish Inquisition, or the politics of raw power exercised by medieval Roman Catholicism. That’s cherry-picking history to suit a purpose. There is good reason the Reformers saw Rome in the role of antichrist, as the oppression exerted against the simple Gospel of Jesus, buried under a mountain of tradition, superstition, and denied access to the written Scriptures, would make anyone suspect the motives of such tyranny. We (conservative) Baptists are no more bigoted than any one else. We have simply learned from hard experience to watch our back.

No they do not.
The Guardian refers to a"church" run by a nut job called Fred Phelps. Google it up. The Guardian is a leftist humanist newspaper which is plainly anti Christian. The article is old.
The Catholic Church is one of the main historic churches but its teachings are in some cases non Biblical. It might best be termed a sect - but then what is Orthodox today?
Baptists are members of a sect not a cult. The mother church in the UK is the Anglican Church (Anglia the old name for England or Angel-land perhaps?!).............. The KKK is not headed by the Baptist Church.
If you want to criticize people fine but please try to get your facts right first.
Wikipedia is becoming less reliable every day.

When you say the Baptist our you talking about every person in the USA? A lot of people can do bad things, and claim to be a believer. Some people who do teach things about other religions can be true, depending on what they said. Sometimes people need a insult of their own religion so they can find a way to make another group look like bad people. In the Bible God said man and woman.People can try to hide behind God to do their dirty work so to make it look like it is of good. Well the KKK is not anything that is of God.The way I take it is that they are being hateful by being the head of a Baptist Church. The only acceptance that I want is from Jesus Christ, who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. People don't need the acceptance of others, it's all about God.

I think it's rather bigotous of you to point out the Baptists. In a sense, every denomination is bigoted towards others. In a larger sense, every religion and ever individual person is bigoted towards someone or some idea.
To teach your opinion is not a crime. And the fact that you point out one specific church to be the head of the Baptist faith doesn't support your view.
I was at a baptist church this morning, and they didn't say a single thing about catholics or the Church of England. (I'm not a Baptist)

I grew up in the Southern Baptist church, and I left because there were plenty of things I didn't like about it...however, the Westboro Baptist church is definitely not representative of most Baptists. Like I said, there were things I didn't like about my church, including how they sometimes criticized other churches' beliefs. But they definitely aren't as extreme as the other stuff you listed. No "normal" Baptist would ever protest at someone's funeral or approve of the KKK.

Funny, I'm Baptist and I've never heard my preacher say anything like that. Westboro is a freak cult that hangs Baptist on the end of their name. Even their website says they are not affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention nor any other mainline Baptist denomination. Why don't you do a little more research before you jump in looking stupid painting all demoninations of Baptist as cruel freaks.

There are those who are a bit over zealous in their beliefs. I believe that this group qualifies as such. But this is one group among many. I know some very nice Baptists. Not all are members of the KKK. So please do not judge all Baptists by this one group.
This is one group among many and it is a particularly zealot group at that.
Yes I believe this group could be called a cult.

Maybe just ask a Baptist. I was told not to bring my black friend to church a long time ago so I didn't go back.
