Even if you seek tranquility, delight in goodness, and search for the source, if you don't meet someone with genuine true knowledge and understanding, it will turn instead into major error. The fault lies in false teachers.

If God made us from dust why aren't we Silicon based life? Silicon can bond as much as carbon but does not do so in practice because additional outershells do not form covalent bonds as strong as the smaller ones. If God wanted to make us Carbon based shouldn't the bible say we were made from oil or coal? If God could transmute the elements why didn't he just make us out of air? Your thoughts please!

I am terrified. I want to be clean. But I'm not. You see I fell away and I read a passage about it being impossible to repent again. The seed that Jesus put in me is gone. The fruits I experienced were love, joy, and peace. I felt warmth throughout me. Now I feel cold, alone, and hated. I feel like Christ's enemy. I betrayed him even worst than Judas did. I accused him of all kinds of evil and blasphemed him. I didnt believe that he had a holy spirit inside him.. Its too late. I even visioned myself lifting Jesus up on another cross and crucifying him. I never felt this bad before. I cursed and mocked and blasphemed everything in heaven. I even dreamt that Jesus said depart from me. My mind is becoming depraved and sensitive to sin and losing all love emotions. Its like I am alive but dead waiting for my punishment. I prayed last night for another renewing of the spirit I blasphemed but nothing happened. People say if I am worried then I am fine. But I am not...

The popular video game, "Halo Nights" is being used by Protestant churches to lure young people into attending services. Halo III is a popular video game, with sales reaching $300,000 and features bloody war, violent and brutal. Ministers rationalize this by saying they have to use any means necessary to lure young boys into attending services. The question is...if "Thou Shalt Not Kill" can be ignored, can other means at their disposal...Porn movies or Snuff films, for instance, be as effective? Should churches forget the instructions of Christ to lure young people into attending? How can churches teach morality and integrity if they stoop to such behavior? Has religion become synonymous with sin?

Jesus said:
"God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." John 3:16-18

Jesus said, "what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God‘s Son‘?" John 10:36

Likewise John the Baptist testified, "I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God." Joh 1:34

What if Christ is really a fun guy, and loves to laugh, rather than TELL people how it is? What if Christ is misunderstood, and the majority of people don't understand Him? (geez, that's a given). What if He would rather play, than to war? Would you know Him then?

I would think that He gets blamed for A LOT of the "Devil's" deeds.

What say you?

With mug slinging towards Atheist & Agnostic minded people, honestly were you a bad person before you said your saving prayer and handed a bible. Since then what has truly changed in your daily life, have you had to work hard on areas of your life you doubted to remain religious. Has since becoming a Christian deepened your relationships with your family and friends. Did you abandon or dismiss friends who were in your life, who chosen to remain atheist.

(please, serious answers only!)

I'm 17, I've been a christian for about 8 months and I go to a Baptist church. I've seen two other friends getting baptised and knew I would do it one day.

The problem is I've been battling with my faith and I really want to believe but I'm finding it alot to grasp lately. I'm guessing I should be completely certain before taking that step.

Why is baptism such a big deal? Does it change you at all, or bring you closer to God?

Also, whats the deal with being baptised of the Holy Spirit?
