It might have something to do with golfer's ignoring their families (this only applies to a few). Maybe to the association of golf with elites who excluded blacks for many years from many of their clubs. It might be related to golf's popularity as a means for sabbath breaking. Other's might be disturbed by the wasteful use of societies resources in maintaining massive green areas as either non-productive or away from their natural state.

I don't agree I think golf is a good game and you can do what you want with it.

I know many Christians who play golf. It is not a devil's game.
It is about the only non-violent sport left (except swimming), and has the most beautiful scenery of any other sport. Most Christians do not golf during church hours......those are non-Christians you see playing on the course then. It is an expensive sport, but isn't anything you do anymore expensive?
Try buying a ticket for a university or pro ball game. Wow.

i've never heard that. i love golf. apparently you do too. if so, you know good and well how frustrating the game can be. as christians, we are called to ''flee all temptation.'' when i get stuck in a sandtrap, i'm tempted to say some pretty vile things. in fact, i generally go on and say those vile things, and i'm not subtle about it in the least. so then, i guess if we are playing golf, and we know there's any kind of possibility that we will get frustrated and cuss and holler, we're inviting sin rather than doing our best to avoid it. some christian pastor probably played golf (poorly) once upon a time, got mad about the way he was playing, and the filth began to flow from his mouth, therefore making golf ''the devil's game.'' that's my best guess.

Who told you that? I'm a Christian, and I've never heard that. Although boring (imo), there is nothing spiritually wrong with golf, so enjoy!

Because you have to make a deal with the devil to be any good at the game, I'm sure. The course kicks -my- *** every time.

Golf is a wealthy man's game. And quite a boring game, too.
