muslims aren't allowed a dog inside the home as a pet. Everything that Allah as created has great wisdom behind it.
Let's analze a dog, It pees evrywhere till it's trained and even then their could be accidents. We lay our prayer rugs on the floor and it would obviously interfere with worship if while you were praying a dog comes over and pees. ok now the 2nd point is look at any dog and his bowel movement, Their is still some fecal matter left around his___ and the hair around this area. SInce we have to perform a washing of our bodies 5 times a day before we pray, it doesn't make too much sense to hold a cute little ***** with kaka and it get on your clothes or skin.......... You can have a dog for purposes of hunting and
hearding. It's god that makes up the rules and we can ? it all day long and look into every religion and knit pick, but in the end you know that god was of course right about everything.

It is not illegal for Muslims to own or keep dogs. It is just that they must be owned and kept for some purpose other than a pet. Working dogs have always been allowed. Even in the Quran, dogs are mentioned as being used in hunting. They are also allowed as guard animals.

There are, however, strict rules about touching dogs, eating from the bowls that they have eaten out of, or of cleaning places where they have been. These stem mostly out of the habits of dogs that are wild or have not been properly treated by their owners.

Dogs in western societies are treated far differently than those in many other parts of the world. Rabies and other diseases abound and dogs are more mean and apt to bite or attack than in western countries. Your experience with people who shy away from or who are startled by dogs probably comes from experiences in their homeland with dogs there.

The first time I went to India I was warned about the dogs that I would find there. At first I thought this was stupid but once I was there I understood.

Peace and Blessings,

Imam Salilm

Dogs can be trained to an amazing degree in all areas. It all depends on their masters and how they train them Some Dogs are trained for the most cruel sport of dog fighting. It is not the fault of the poor animal but a reflection of its master.
The love and loyalty of dogs are un matched. Quite often when a loving owner dies the dog refuses food and eventually dies!
There are millions of homes all over the world where dogs do not foul their homes due to simple training.
As with anything else this needs love and an open mind. 2 vital virtues that many who follow certain guidelines fanatically simply lack.

Far as I know muslims can have a dog, but cannot have one living inside, which is only sensible, and I hate to go to ppls house and it stinks of DOG and it seems only they dont realize it, when its obvious to anyone else with a nose, yes there are a select few who have a really small dog that they work hard to keep clean but most of you YOUR HOUSE STINKS, INSIDE IS FOR HUMANS AND OUTSIDE FOR ANIMALLLLLSSSS. Persoanlly I just never liked touching or being jumped on by dogs, even when I was not muslim. Also I read long ago that touching dogs leads to a common disease (wish I could remember the name) that is very common in America and most common in Alaska where they need to use dogs a lot- anywhoo, for the people who have dogs inside, your clothes stink too when you come out in public, thats nasty

"Almost every Muslim is having a dog!" is a sweeping statement.
Muslims are not allowed to keep the dog inside the house and let it lick anyone.
On the fifteenth night of Shaban, during Shabe Barath, angels descend on muslims houses and favour them with divine blessings. They do not enter houses where dogs are kept!
We have to respct the law and traditions and NOT be guided by what a few do against them!

Because dogs are known to eat carrion and of course they clean themselves after evacuation by licking, they are seen as unclean. Just as Judaism has proscriptions against consorting with anything unclean and provides its adherents with lengthy lists of what is unclean, so too Islam. And in Allah's book, the dog in waaay up there on that list. A good, practicing Muslim therefore will eschew the company and companionship of all canines in obedience to what he conceives to be the will of God (Allah).

Pity that when Mohammed was cribbing from the Bible he ignored that part of the New Testament wherein we are taught that NOTHING that God created is unclean, and nothing that goes into a human is unclean. Only that which proceeds from his mouth (IE foul language and blasphemy) can be unclean.

Ahhh well. He left out all the parts that would point to Christ as savior. Can't have a rival, doncha know, not when you're intent on founding your OWN religion.

Most Muslims do not keep dog inside their houses. They are allowed to keep a dog out of the houe in backyard or front yard for security purposes.
Reason: There are Angels assigned to each individual since the day he/she is born to bless and to protect. Angels come inside house of every one when they are sleeping in night. Dog can see or feel that some one other than the family member is there and starts barking to wake the family up. Then Angels do not enter in the house to bless them and their house. For this reason Prophet of Islam advised not to have dog inside the house. Most Muslims enjoy clamness, security and prosperity in their families. God blesses them good children. Very few of them involve in drinking, drugs and sexual activities under because of the association of non-Muslim boys and girls. A higher percentage of children graduate from colleges and do good in their lives due to blessings of God. Most are obedient to parents and do not talk back to them. Most women are obedient to their husbands and do not fight them for power struggle. All Muslims pay 2.5% of their savings of over twelve months known as zakat (poor tax) that is given to poor Muslims where ever they can find. God increases prosperity for taking care of their poor fellow muslims.

Off course non-Muslims won't do any thing that Prophet of Islam has said and do their own loss.

it's okay to own one or keep a dog as a pet. but we've been taught that dogs aren't very clean creatures so we have to clean ourselves after we touch dogs. and yes it's actually ridiculous that some muslim actually jump at the sight of dogs. i guess they've been brought up to stay away from dogs that they tend to run the other way whenever one comes near.
