There are some people on here who assume that Religion and Spirituality means Christianity Only.
It's going to happen, so why stress about it. Let them spout their stuff. You don't have to read it all. After awhile you get to know the common ones anyway.

Huh? What was the question? if you are asking if people always quote from the bible? Well the people who choose to come to a diverse and squirt Jesus juice all over the answers do. But I have to disagree with the "doesnt even relat[ing] to the quote" part, they do usually have a reason to post them. Neutral is a good place to be :)

It's the Christian's belief system. To us, it is relevant. Perhaps it would best be used in the "source" section. I am sorry you are offended, but most non-believers are by the word of God. I would put a verse reference, but since I am answering specifically to you, I won't.
It is similar to being on the political Q&A. It's very divided there too. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

A guy used to do that on a Saturday in my home town. I truely belive that you find religion on your own and don't need it forced upon you in such an abstract way. Informing people about religion may be ok (less directly though of course) but just spouting verses makes no sense.

The reason the verses they quote don't even relate to the question is they already have their "answers" ready and simply copy and paste them.
It's common in pets too, especially anything to do with dog breeding.

This is the Religion and Spirituality section of Yahoo Answers.
There are many Christians here and we consider the Bible to be the Holy Divine Inspired Word of GOD; basically an instruction book for daily living.
When we answer questions quoting from HIS Word, it helps us understand HIS will for our lives; and hopefully it helps the person asking the question, even if they are an unbeliever.
For example - you could learn alot - and become a pretty good person in the process - just following the teachings of JESUS CHRIST (love one another, forgive your enemies, turn the other cheek, do unto others, etc.) even if you did not accept HIM as the SON of GOD like we do.
I hope this answer is helpful to you. I tried not to quote scripture but it does remind me of one:
"And the LORD's servant must not quarrel; he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, to gently instruct those who oppose him." - II Timothy 2

So what? Is that such a horrible atrocity that you've got to complain about it with a question?
You can always thumbs down those people and hide their message. ( I generally don't, because I don't agree with the thumbs down system. I think it should be thumbs up only, as thumbs down do nothing but make people feel dejected.)
It's irrelevent, let them preach, it doesn't impact your day that much.

well if your asking questions in this section, that alone is why you are subject to being "preached to" might i suggest another section if you really refuse to be preached to. if not, you just gonna have to get used to it. some people have to get their beliefs out no matter what it takes. i think it's a blessing in disguise.

I don't notice that anymore but it used to be bad, now I've noticed some of the atheist cute & paste the same answer on every question they answer.

Did you happen to notice which category you are posting in? That could have something to do with the type of answers you receive.
