If you don't believe in GOD prayer would seem to be a waste of time, that's probably why you're so unhappy.

If you want to believe - read the Gospel of John with an open, sincere heart - asking GOD for wisdom and insight as you read.

Then read "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis and "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel.

If you're still an unbeliever after all that....well, you never really wanted to believe in the first place.

We believe the sun will rise everyday, the moon will come up every night. We can create life and have the ability to love without end. We bury and honor our dead, and celebrate every new life we bring into the world. Our technology has far surpassed our great grandparents at light speed. We have walked on the moon and explored the deep depths of the ocean.
Still you find it hard to believe in a greater power then yourself. Maybe that is the problem. You have prayed, for yourself. You have the word I, 7 times in your question. Could it be that your so focused on you that there is no room for other thoughts or higher thinking? We make our own happiness here on earth. You have to work for it. Sitting around feeling sorry for your self is not getting you happier. God does answer prayers but not the whine kind. He answers prayers when we pray for others, when we ask for a healing of some one. To have God you must open the door of your heart and ask for him to come in. It is so convenient to pray when you are desperate, but why not when your happy and well and give thanks for your life. I pray everyday, not for a miracle but just to say hi, thank you or could you help John he has hit some bad times. Maybe you would be happier if you put that sad energy into helping some one who really has it bad, go to any hospital and walk the pediatrics ward, you'll see real sadness and pain. But you will also see kids who would love to have what you do. You will see braveness, acceptance and love, and true faith.

Well speaking from experience, God and my faith in Him healed me of my depression... truly.

Trying to learn more about God and having a hungry heart is a first step... try and get in touch with a local Christian church... I am a member of Christ Embassy, and there might be a chapter local to you. Also if you go to www.loveworldchristiannetwork.org there is an online Christian channel to watch Christian programs from various pastors and evangelists.

Also, getting some Christian books and looking at some Christian sites may give you more information...

Just thinking about Gods love for you... well just meditate on that for a bit... about someone loving you unconditionally. It's glorious!

Good luck on your search, I will pray for you.

Take care, God bless

Read 1st John in the back of the Bible.

Only 5 chapters. Has the purpose for the Bible in it.

Good for study, Read everyday for 30 days, use modern English version. Try this on line, The New American Standard version, renowned for word definition/understanding:
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=69&chapter=1&version=49

Then you might read the gospel of John, written in a precise manner to help understand God's purposes, John20:30,31
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%201;&version=49;

Copy the Bible to your word processor, double space it, save to read and print out. Just "1st John" first though, it gets tedious sometimes, but you will notice details overlooked in just a reading.

Relationships: ideas found throughout the Bible for believers, truths that shape our thoughts. Proverbs, others give easily quoted passages that can help you by most any Bible scholar. Mostly for Believers.

Just as little children never hear anything except what they CHOOSE to hear, so it is when we pray and think that "God' is not there because we didn't get the answer we were looking for. Perhaps he said, not yet, or "you'll learn in time' or maybe he just said No. Whatever the question, HE always answers. You have to listen and believe. You would't expect to hear AUNT EDNA either if you don't have an Aunt Edna. It's OK if you don't believe in HIM because I do and he believes in you and me. I know he answers prayers. I am living proof.

My dear
learn to calm down - take up meditation - and be still and search your heart. It does not work if you do it once; you need to do it frequently. See if you can team up with people who have already found inner peace to guide you. You are obviously very young - you will find that your life experiences will help you to mature. I sincerely hope that you will eventually find your soul mate that will make a huge difference to your happiness and peace of mind. Do not get too hang up with any guilt feelings - we all flounder in confusion at many stages in our lives. Just concentrate in finding your way and not on your shortcomings. Never give up -you will eventually know when you have arrived.

Peace

I don't think anyone can do much to help, it sounds to me like the decision is up to you. Jesus makes the offer, "Come unto Me and I will give you rest." But you must decide to come.

Normally there is a reason why people don't believe in God and almost 100% of the time it is because there is some sin in your life that you know you will have to give up if you want a relationship with God, and you don't want to give it up. You have to weigh ut all these things and the decision is yours.

Just judging from your name, I am wondering what kind of music you are into. An addiction to music is one of the most prevelant deterants to a relationship with God there is. My daughter-in-law wrestled with that one. She knew if she came to God she would have to give up the music she was listening to, but once she decided to do it, God completely changed her taste formusic.

Hi
If you don't believe that a Creator exist, when you pray who do you pray to ?
If you are very emotional and you have problem in your relationship you can find specialist to help you.
But FAITH is little in you, since you pray when you are in trouble, to increase your faith you can read more about your religion & other religions and you will feel better & liberate your mind. Not all prayer are answered....
Good luck

You are correct. People can draw strength from faith, and it seems much easier to do so if they can have faith in something bigger, better than their own self.

It would not necessarily require a divine being, however; maybe Buddhism or Confucianism could provide answers to your dilemma.
