Oh, honey, false teachers are a dime a dozen, at least in America! Just turn on any television, any station, any time. That is, if you have a strong stomach!
You have to pick and choose your sources of enlightenment, which can make it tricky at times. One wise man said "by their fruits ye shall know them." He was right about that. Does that mean you believe everything his followers say he said, or believe everything his (so-called) followers tell you? No, of course not. You must judge by your own internal values, your own reason and good sense.
Sorry, no short-cut to that part. If you try to short cut your own good judgment, you can be led around like a bull with a ring in its nose.

There are lots of false teachers out there and they don't just fool you, they also contribute to the bad image of religion in our society. The problem is, a vast number(not all of them.) of A's and scientists think that all religions are the same, and thats not true. You can cite reply of some people on this site as an example of this false prejudice. I think that he/she has been influenced by the bias of this world, and I believe that even if two religions look EXACTLY the same, that DOES NOT mean they ARE THE SAME. Some person out there can just make a mock up, false religion and impersonate a real one and if someone else was to look at it and not observe it VERY carefully, he/she would be deceived. Also, if he/she says that those two are both wrong just because the false one is doing something bad, I think, using my common sense, that the real religion is not wrong and the wrong one was the person fooled by the false religion. I feel sorry for him/her. A sad fact indeed.
And for those who have searched for the true religion and haven't found one, here's my word of advice for them: keep searching, if you stop, it just proves that you don't really want to find it. It can take years, even a lifetime to find the truth. don't let doubt enter your mind, it will destroy you, believe me, I've seen it once and I really didn't like the look of it. Who knows? maybe there is only ONE and Only One True religion and the other ones were ALL FALSE ONES? That would make some sense for those who look into just 10 or 15 religions and didn't find the real ONE.
Have faith in it. No one ever accomplished anything without risk. We're lucky we don't have to die for war anymore, but still we complain how life is so hard and we blame it on others, it is somewhat ungentlemanly/unladylike. Children don't understand that they are being punished for their wrongs, so who are we to say that we are not the same? just watch CNN and you'll see the horror of people's acts in the news. If you have other questions and I am sure you guys do, it will all be answered once you find a TRUE religion, not just some bizarre cult that is composed of millions of people who say that they are the real ones even though they harass, injure, steal, lie, blackmail and not to mention kill people.
For those who question the existence of the other side for the lack of PHYSICAL evidence, here is my opinion: Isn't it logical for a non-physical thing to NOT leave behind physical evidence? let's put it this way, An anti virus can't detect a burglar entering a house now can it? That is because the software's METHOD of searching is NOT SUITED to detect a burglar. It is therefore logical that the software can only detect the burglar if the burglar decides to reveal him/herself to the software. in which case, he/she will give it some evidence in data form, because if the burglar gave the software physical, not data-based info(binary), the software will have no idea what the person is trying to say, and that is where books enter the equation. Otherworldly being+books,texts,etc...=easily readable evidence in an understandable format. So if you just try physical experimentation to prove non physical things, you would generally end up with no evidence because of the easily falsifiable and doubtable PHYSICAL nature of the experiment. That is because everything can be doubted by the ultimate denier. One does not need something to be false in order to make new laws to make an excuse for its PROPOSED falseness, we can see it in society today a.k.a. culture shock. Who knows? maybe one day aliens or spiritual beings will go to earth and reveal themselves in an understandable form. that would be the ultimate culture shock for one of the two factions. But whose to say which will come? Who has the TRUE, not MOST evidence, not just physically but also mentally? That is what all of us must find out. YOU have to do it for yourself, not us, not others, its your life you're dealing with so you have a responsibility to protect it and act. A true detective doesn't enter the crime scene and look at it just once, he/she enters the crime scene and SEARCHES EVERY GRITTY CORNER OF IT. If he/she doesn't, it might result in the wrong conclusion that will eventually lead to wrong decisions, effectively sentencing others for crimes they didn't commit.
Thats some of it. if you have any questions you can PM me. but PLEASE be polite so i can be polite in return.
PS: thanks for the two points. ;)

Yes there are false teachers. We have to be on guard and discern what is being taught. Jesus taught us about them calling them wolves in sheep's clothing. Look at the various cults and you can see the harm that they cause.
