I just watched on the History Channel the story on Mary Magdelah and their are two different view points on her (well three is you are not Christian of course lol but assuming you are Christian then) what is your view point on Her? Was she his wife? just a follower? Is the egg turning red in front of the Emperor Tiberius true and the origins of the Easter egg?

Please tell me what you Christians think, I am not Christian so the story and two view points are interesting to me and I wish to learn and I can learn best by reading and also listening. regardless if I believe or not, i still am intrigued. I hope I will get some good answers and please any NON Christians I understand your want to say something about it not being real or such...IM not a Christian either so its pointless with me...I am asking them because i have interest in their view point on this and if you have an opinion other than that please answer then just no bashing please of anyone..TY

ok

Mary depending on your views as a Christian was either a follower of Jesus and once a prostitute who got redemption from Christ and became a very devote follower.

Others such as Dan Browns now famous novel the Davinci Code would like others to believe she was much much more but actually his wife and bore his only child a girl named Sarah and they both fled to egypt then to moden france *gaul at the time fleeing the romans. This is when it is said that sarah married into the Kings line and hence the story.

There is NO proof and the shows that have done specials on it trying to see if there is any proof have come up with none either. It is all conjecture and a good story that is all so far.

I think she was something important, she was an Original follower of Christ and part of the group that helped spread his gospel, she is even a Saint now.

So you have to decide yourself in the end even if you do not beleive in the faith, you can still decide which version you think sounds more plausible.

NO I do not think Jesus married her and had a child with her, but I do think that he did revere her enough to allow her to be a part of his flock.

As to the egg, I saw that episode too and It is supposedly true according to Christian text but it is not found any where in any Roman texts of the day or after so Im not sure.

The red egg came from the Sumerians. THey dipped the eggs in blood for Ishtar in a ceremoney for fertility. Gruesomely cool huh?
Ah the Mary debate. You'll find both sides on this one but most Christians believe she was simpy his follower. I'm not sure eiter way. Read the Lost Gospels if you're really interested. She has a gospel.
