Where does it say everybody go sell magazines and books and let them do the work for you? Where does it say you get to add your own spin to the Bible?

"And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. " -- Matthew 24:14

'And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” ' -- Matthew 28:19,20

"However, if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare
to you as good news something beyond what we
declared to you as good news, let him be accursed" - Galatians 1:6-9

CAN you even ONLY use the Bible? Really?

Is it possible to teach everything necessary from just the Bible? Yes, I believe so.

I don't think it would hurt to use other sources, but I think the Bible should definitely be the backbone and the final say.

Gosh, no! We use other sources the whole time! I'm thinking here of some of the great saints who have written loads. The Bible is a collection of books that have always been open to interpretation and this is accepted practice - whether you agree with it or not. The different Christian denominations have always done this - think of the Roman Catholics and the protestants - the latter don't include all the books in their Bible that the RCs do. The Bible wasn't written as one definitive tract - St Paul writing his letters to the Corinthians didn't necessarily think they would last forever.

The Qu'ran. however, was written as a one and only religious text book to be taken literally. Unfortunately, that is also now being 'interpreted' by certain sections of Islam.

True Christians - such as those that realize the fullness of Jesus Christ
-
that have matured in the word and are qualified to preach or teach should use only the sword of God the Holy Scriptures.

There is no one that can entirely memorize verses so many of the newer often use reference sheets or index cards as memory devices.

One of the major accomplishment of the Adversary is to lead people into certain cult like groups. These twist and distort a person's thought processes.

Upon leaving an organization like this many turn to atheism or agnosticism. So the Enemy wins either way.

But this does not last long as God is in their heart but the hurt, anger, and exposure to abuse sidetrack for awhile.

Pray.

The Bible is an irreplaceable source and takes precendence over any other source. But that doesn't mean other sources cannot be accurate or beneficial. As long as they agree with and don't contradict biblical teachings, there are many great sources.

We use the tools with which we have been provided - as people are not trained in language any longer, the provision of useful works on science for example in the use of apologetics, or books showing the historical safekeeping and accuracy of the scriptures are useful. I prefer relationship building to giving out tracts which are generally unhelpful BUT....................

the last verse here is for you

Luke 9
48And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

49And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.

50And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us

Modern science will soon prove that the Bible is the "only" source we can count on for proving "anything".
