Jesus said that all of us are equal and that no church leader was to put a title in front of their name. Matthew 23:8-10.
Line 9 says "Not to call anyone "father" for our only Father is God." The catholic church sure dose not obey that. I even asked a Catholic priest about this once and he claimed that 'catholic priests are the exception, they can do it.'.

equal in what? Is the regular Parishioner equal to their Pastor? We are all sinners in God's eyes---even the Pope but, God is the one who promised he would uphold the office --"The gates of Hell shall not prevail against her". He guards against faulty teaching and in this the Pope is infallible only. Was Moses the same as the other Israelites? How about Joshua? How about Jacob? These are all men God put in charge as Stewards over his flock. Who decides Stem Cell Issues or Abortion issues, or any issue that wasn't presented in the Bible? Is this something like an everyman for himself thing? That's the kind of results that have come about in the Protestant Churches. They have a gazillion little Popes huh? You're your own Pope right? What about women preachers --- a big no no in the Scriptures. How about gay clergy? That's politically correct but, there ya go---that's big with the Protestants now.

Does the Pope kiss their ring? Does the Pope bow to them. Does the Pope hand on to every word uttered by them, as though they were God Almighty himself and not just a mere man? Does they Pope let them change the Bible the way he does? Can the people make anyone a Saint just because they say so, although the bible clearly says we are all Saints of God? Do the people have the right to make Mary divine like the Pope did? Are the people the voice of God, here on Earth or are they just sheep who listen to the wrong Shepherd...there is only one Shepherd that has the voice we listen to..and that is not the Pope. Can the people bless the Pope? Oh no, only he has the power to bless people. Do the people cover up wrong doings in the church? Nope, that is the Pope's job....
I know there are a lot of sincere and loving people in this church but they need to compare what they do with what the Bible says. Call no man on Earth your Father, you have only one Father and he is in Heaven....

I would say in terms of the value of a human soul they are equal. In fact one of the titles of the Pope is "Servum Servorum Dei" (Servant of the servants of God).
In terms of social power, he is the top of the Catholic Church heirarchy. Does that make him more righteous than anyone else? Absolutely not. It just makes him more responsible.

Acts 10:34- 35
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Apparently not - otherwise, why should he be living like a king in the Vatican, surrounded with servants & smothered in gold and precious jewels?
But actually, Catholic people (in the eyes of God), are every bit as equal as the Pope and it's about time they stood up for their rights and got rid of this antiquated "monarch", who insists on denying the rights of priests & nuns to marry & have children.

Yes.
Are you equal with the President of the United States, or the mayor of your town? Position determines authority, not relative worth. We are all equal in the eyes of God.

Yes and no.
All humans are loved equally by God.
Individual humans are each given their own gifts and vocations (forms of service) by God.
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts
but the same Spirit;
there are different forms of service
but the same Lord;
there are different workings
but the same God
who produces all of them in everyone.
To each individual
the manifestation of the Spirit
is given for some benefit.
To one is given through the Spirit
the expression of wisdom;
to another the expression of knowledge
according to the same Spirit;
to another faith by the same Spirit;
to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit;
to another mighty deeds;
to another prophecy;
to another discernment of spirits;
to another varieties of tongues;
to another interpretation of tongues.
But one and the same Spirit produces all of these,
distributing them individually
to each person as he wishes.
(1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
With love in Christ.
