It matters only if reality itself matters more than comfort.

Drugs also help people feel better, but they rob them of their ability to cope with the real world.

I'm an atheistic agnostic.

i think there is a god whether it be a person or just a light energy i don't know eventually we will all find out when we go back to the spirit world which i do believe in. I believe we choose to come back to learn more so we can go higher on the other side till eventually we become Angels. This makes me feel better to know that one day i will see my loved ones again and it also makes things better here knowing i have done this for a reason whether i can remember it or not.
I think its quite sad that people do not have a belief i think it makes there life quite empty with no direction.
what do you believe.

I think if a person needs to believe in God to be a better or happier person , then by all means let them believe. It's when some people have no fear of consequence that they do things they would not normally do. If some Christians were proven wrong and were shown there is no God and they believed it, they would have no hope and no fear of punishment. I think religion is a great thing except that it becomes a part of politics.

Yes, without a belief in God, people like Hitler, Talchemada, and Charlemagne (and Bush) would never have had the moral conviction to slaughter literally millions of people for no good reason!

To quote Hitchens "religion poisons everything". Needless to say, I am an atheist!

I do agree with you on that. However i believe that we are all born with the design and belief in a "Higher Power" or Something bigger...
My personal views and belief?
I am considered an eclectic solitaire pagan witch with an emphasis on intuitive healing. I believe that we are all here to learn "life lessons" and that we will continue on until we learn all that is meant to be learned. Then and only then will our souls then become one with the divine entity most commonly referred to as "God"

God is real and for people who choose not to believe, we all have to answer to God when it is over. I believe that it does give people hope that there is more to living. That life is a gift and that tomorrow is not promised to know one. He gives his people strength to keep going and not give up when people come up against us. I believe that God does exist and that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins.

The people who are religious need the comfort it brings that there is a life after death. Also it is a ready and easy answer as to why we are here and how life got here, something science hasn't explained yet. My personal view is that once you are dead your conciousness cease to exist, if theres a soul it returns to where it came, but that is not the person you know on earth. Personality comes from the frontal lobe in the brain, damage it and the person you are cease to exist. I don't need a reason fo rbeing, just that I'm here is enough for me to enjoy the time I have.

I think the truth always matters. We can gain hope from all kinds of sources.... plays, music, poetry, nature. other people.

I'm a Christian, it's more cultural than any hard and fast belief for me. I admit to being too afraid to be anything else.

I don't have a personal belief, I believe what I've been told and to avoid hell, I'm going to keep right on believing it.

This is the threat of not taking scripture literally. It turns the gospel into a moral story.

2 Pet 1:16: For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Agree! God "IS" and beyond human conceptions. It's the conceptions that cause all conflict. LIFE here is an experience and the deeper we examine "what is this Life in me", the more God comes into the experience!

Agreeing to Agree on something only because you feel to agree on something is better to disagree is by action only a means to silence your doubt but in actual fact you are not agreeing at all and only misleading those around you that agrees or disagrees.

Because if you agreed there would have been no doubt.

I agree to: Agree OR NOT agree but do not doubt.
