This is an open, hopefully non-bashing question. Many times here, a Christian will say that a REAL Christian believes that real Christians didn't participate in the Witch burnings. Also, many times here, a Witch will say that a REAL Witch don't even exist.
Can you offer something that is a myth about what you are:
Real Witches don't...
OR
Real Christians don't...
If you would also like to say what REAL Witches/REAL Christian Do do, please feel free!
I'll start. I am a Witch, and real Witches don't believe in harming anyone. Real Witches do believe that there are many true spiritual paths. And real Witches really do exist!

Dear Raji, I didn't mean to imply that any REAL Witch would presume to speak for all Witches, and of course we all have our own path. My question was an attempt to educate others about things that COULD be true of a person who is a real Witch, and things that almost certainly are NOT true of a real Witch. (or Christian, for the Christian answerers) Common ground does exist, does it not? :)

Great Q!
Blessings to all!
Real witches do not eat babies, do not curse others and most importantly do not worship or associate themselves with satan.
We do not believe in satan, therefore do not worship this entity.
We believe that our work on earth is to take care of the earth and each other, to seek out the true meaning of spirit, love and tolerance and to be the best people that we can be.
We, in general follow the three-fold law....that intent is what matters.
Our basic belief, is "An Harm Ye None, Do What Ye Will"
This would include harming ourselves and others by either trying to control them,etc...
We seek to live in peace, love, respect and tolerance of all.
We do not promote our religion or spiritual beliefs in ways to try to convert others..We believe every spiritual path is valid for the individual that follows it.
We do believe in helping, healing anyone in need, regardless of their religious views or lack there of.
Blessings to All

It's all down weather or not you as an individual were lucky enough to be GIFTED with a talent such as magic as to weather or not people believe , It's not like pulling a rabbit from a hat or the illusionist tricks you catch on TV , that's entertainment don't confuse that with real amazing talents that are very unique gifts from God , just because we don't shout it from the rooftops and get a prime time TV show doesn't mean we're not there.... Weather were healers light workers or seekers of another kind I can assure you that such things do exist and we use to try to do good things and help each other and occasionally there will be a BAD/EVIL few who will do and continue to use there gift to gain BAD/EVIL results , It's all a case of seeing is believing really I guess , that's why so many people don't believe it exists And just because YOU Can't see or feel something does that mean it isn't there ? I can't see the wind but it doesn't mean it's not there.

REAL Witches do NOT speak for OTHER real Witches for ALL know that there are as many WAYS of BEING a Witch as there are Witches. It's NOT an "anything goes" form of Religion, it's more like whatever WORKS for the individual Witch is what determines how a Witch chooses to live his or her life. You can have 1,000 Witches in a room and it's unlikely that any TWO will conduct the craft in the same way as any other in the room. The Goal of a Witch is always the same, to improve ones Spirituality BUT there are MANY paths to reach that goal. Just as there are MANY ways to get from Boston to Los Angeles. No one path is correct for ALL. As long as the goal is aimed for, then it's a valid path. And we hold that same concept for ALL other Religions as well. ALL are equally as valid.

The basic concept of a "REAL" Christian itself is a myth. There is no "REAL" or "FALSE"
Christian. One is born or proselytized.Whether such a person follows his faith with vigor or not is his choice. Therefore,in my view, a Christian is a Christian.A REAL Christian believing that
REAL Christians didn't participate in Witch burnings is,to say the least, hypocrisy.
It is my belief that the above applies to witches too. If,therefore,a witch chooses to follow her cult and a spiritual path without a thought of causing harm to anyone,I see nothing wrong.
Unfortunately, from time immemorial witches have been painted black and are regarded as evil, which is sad.
I reserve my comment on the existence or otherwise of witches.

My opinion:
There is no such thing as a 'real' ANYTHING. We are all individuals, following our own path. Our chosen religion is just the name we put to our beliefs. It does not necessarily dictate our entire lives.
This is the reason why no (example) Christian is more or less real than another, even if one is hateful while the other is loving.
Neither are actually a carbon copy of a 'real' Christian, but both try as hard as they can to do what THEY THINK is the right thing for a Christian to do. Hence the individual path.
So my argument is that, while you state that you are a REAL witch, would it not be more accurate to say that you 'stick to your chosen path as closely as possible'?
That way, if you were to make a small mistake of any kind, it would be very irrational for others to blame your religion for this.
A LOVING Christian wouldn't participate in burnings with his comrades, but he is no more or less REAL in his beliefs.
No theist is truly able to know what their god/gods/godess/goddesses wants, but it certainly is a good way to spark trouble when someone claims they know.
And in short, EVERY spiritual path is true. It is true for those who follow it, therefore it is in its own way an absolute truth.
I think I'll just clarify that I'm in full agreement to practically everything you said, and my answer was only basically a debate over the actual wording (i.e real).

May peace go with you throughout your life, my friend

Is this only for Witches or can other Pagans play too?
Hellenic Reconstructionist Polytheists (like REAL Witches) do not believe in Satan. We DO believe in (and worship) the Gods of Greece.
We are NOT all "Ethnic" Greeks, but can be from any race or nationality.
Here's a list of SOME of the things we do....
"We share ideas, passion for Hellenic Reconstructionism and its gods, and mutual dignity.
We bring libations, offerings, incense, and humility before the Deathless Ones.
We value liberty, tradition, ethical behavior, curiosity, tactful candor, honor, and common sense.
We work to support present and future Hellenic polytheists by sharing research, providing for religious needs of family and community alike, and establish a stable presence on which to found a lasting future for the practice of our faith.
We light the sacred flames, pour the wine, sing the hymns, and restore long-neglected tradition well worth preservation."

There are nice witches. There are Christians that participate in the witch burnings. My mother was or is one but she is a clumsy witch ( that is long story). My mom did her evil spells but they all came running after her. I keep her away though. I have nothing else to say about them. I once thought that all witches were dangerous. Since I've been here I've changed my mind!
Christians or witches: we find good and bad in everyone.

Real Witches don't Worship Satan. We think he's really lame.
Real Christians don't worship Satan either, but false ones do. Doing Evil in God's name gives them a twofer. Not only is the Evil done, but that fact that it's seen to be done by Christians helps turn the Righteous away from the Churches.

Real Witches don't condemn everyone else, who believes other than us, to suffer in eternal torment. Harming none means not wishing evil intent on another also.

Real Christians are kind to all and try to not be hypocrites.
