I mean, I know, it's hard. It's always part of you, but IT DOESN'T DEFINE YOU. Don't you think psychologists spend too mcuh time bogged down in problems, instead of moving on?
I mean, I got beaten, I got tortured, I got raped, I got left pregnant by myself, what didn't I get done to me? I spent time on the streets, I tried killing myself, I spent time in shelters, but now I'm HAPPY because I've moved on from that.
And at the end of the day, it's your ability to move on and forgive and have fun with life and love the people around you that matters, and focus on your family, not whatever happened to you in the past.
Don't you think that's what psychologists shoudl focus on?

I mean, it's so much easier with religion to move on with stuff, it doesn't focus on getting into the prolbem, it focuses on accepting and moving on.

I went to a therapist for awhile also, because of my past hurts. I had the best lady, I really received alot of healing, but only God can reach down into the very depths of our spirit and deliver us from our bondages and hurts. Only His love was there so that I could really forgive, I could not do this on my own. Jesus is the healer and only through Him can real healing take place. I remember the incidents that took place, but the pain is no longer there.

i agree with you. i've been through physical and sexual
abuse most of my life. what i hate is for a counselor to
ask me to give details of my abuse ( why: so she can
get off on it?). it hurt enough the first time.
to move on is the only way to overcome the past. yes it
happened but to repeat it for months only causes further
depression.
YESHUA was what i needed and salvation. plus being
able to forgive these creeps helped the most.

I disagree. I think the opposite. ******* religion tells people, oh just pray to god, and that demons are causing your ills. You need to go to a doctor and heal that way. Find real solutions to the problem. You think a schizophrenic needs god? He thinks the devil is talking to him. He needs medication to balance his brain chemistry.

So if that's the case why have doctors, the Bible says you can be healed by laying on of hands?
